Wow, we are already on the last day of February. February always seems to just fly on by. While I usually don’t mind the winter, we barely had any true winter days, and I long for the Spring. Instead of these grey Fall like days.
For today we are given a genre freebie for Top Ten Tuesday (as always hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl). So of course I am going for SFF but with the topic of dragons. Dragons are some of my favorite fantasy creatures and there are still many great books with them the star to read.

Dragonfall | The Dragon Keeper | A Natural History of Dragons | Dragonflight | Here, There Be Dragons
The Waking Fire | Dragon Mage | The Awakening + | The Last Dragonslayer | Dragon Pearl
+ At least I think this has dragons
Here There Be Dragons should be on my TBR, too. I’ve had my eyes on it for years.

What a great list of books. Have you read Rachel Aaron’s Heartstriker books? They’re a lot of fun as Dragons secretly run the world.

No they are on my list but I’m struggling finding the books here to read (the Netherlands) without having to use the amazon app.

I have to admit to buying them on my kindle as they weren’t in UK bookstores either.

Hey – I like dragons too, though I’m sure to never tickle them when they’re sleeping! 😉 I’ll add one great dragon rec – Seraphina by Rachel Hartman

I bet The Awakening is good. I used to love reading Roberts’s books. I just haven’t picked one up in a while. I hope you love them all.

I’ve mostly read her JD Robb books so I really need to pick up some of her fantasy like books now.

I remember reading The Last Dragonslayer years ago, and I really liked it! As for dragon books, Guards! Guards! by Terry Pratchett features dragons prominently and is the first in the Ankh-Morpork City Watch series in Discworld

Dragons are always a great choice! I know, it’s been so gloomy here, but we usually get so much more snow. Totally worried about what March will hold.

Last week we just had a random week of snow here and there. Today we are suppose to hit 15 degrees celcius. Who can even understand this weather?

I know!! It’s snowing here today and will be warm and sunny tomorrow. Crazy! haha

How could you have a fantasy book without dragons? Aren’t they the most famous of fantastical creatures?

Oooh dragon books! I always feel like I don’t see/read enough of them! I read a few Anne McCaffrey’s back in my day but there’s definitely a lot of hers that I haven’t read. I also have never read Robin Hobb but now I’m kind of at the point of there’s so many I don’t know where to start!

You could start at the start of the Realm of Elderlings with THe Farseer trilogy (not so much dragons here though). If you want just the dragons, you could start with The Liveship Traders trilogy and then move to The Rain Wild Chronicles. 🙂

Can never have too many dragons. 🙂

I have A Natural History of Dragons but I haven’t read it yet because I heard that it lacks actual dragons haha I hope it does if you end up reading it! I really want to start reading Robin Hobb. I’ve yet to read anything by her.
I haven’t read it yet but I imagine In the Shadow of the Gods by John Gwynn has dragons! There’s one on the cover at least and I own it. So it better lol

Oh no! I hope that is not true haha.
The Shadow of the Gods is one of my favorites series from recent years and yes it does have a rather large dragon.

I would definitely recommend all of McCaffrey’s Pern books. I read a bunch of them in middle school because my mom was a fan so I had access to most of the series that was out at that point. Have a great weekend.
