Dancing out of October 2022

October is also known as the birthday month for us as it isn’t just my birthday that is then but also of family and friends. But this October was a hard month for a variety of reasons.

The Numbers

In October I read a total of 12 books which makes the total of 2022 108 books read.
Of the 12 books 9 books were fantasy, 1 book was sci-fi, 1 book was contemporary and 1 book was historical .
Out of the 31 days of October I read 13 days which amounted to a total of 3145 pages.
The rating average of this month was 3,75.

⌘ October was a bit of an off month. I had to cancel the celebration of my birthday because someone caught covid and since my dad was going to be here, I could not be near anyone who might have been near that person. My dad really can’t be exposed to covid. Nobody else caught it though luckily. But I was turning 35 and I wanted to celebrate with a dinner. We had done all the groceries already. It felt like such a shit show. I did not really move the celebration to another day. Husband didn’t hang any flags for me either so I didn’t feel very happy birtday girl, lol.

⌘ On the up however I won the author pick in Intisar Khanani’s fanart competition so that was great.

⌘ There was a fall vacation for Merijn. The week after that Merijn was sick for 6 days. Poor boy. He is still so tired from it.

⌘ And on the last day of October an eye infection started that is still going on.

  1. I’m so sorry your birthday celebrations didn’t go as planned!!! I can’t do much to cheer you up about that from my seat on the couch (lol), but nonetheless I wish you some virtual belated birthday cheer. Hopefully you can get together with friends and family sometime soon as a pseudo birthday celebration. ❤

  2. Aw im sorry for your birthday.. same thing happened to us with my bestfriend’s baby shower. All was fine when she organised it, and then as it got here the case & many near her got covid so we didnt wanted to risk it with her pregnancy.
Wishing you a nice November xx

  3. It sounds like October was a very mixed month for you. The reading and watching look good, but the life stuff sounds a lot rougher. I’m sorry you didn’t get a proper birthday celebration. I hope the eye infection clears up soon!
