This week is the week Merijn starts back at school and it is the year where he will be learning how to write and read. So exciting. He started back yesterday already when this posts but you all know I blog ahead.
I went back and fort on the back to school freebie for Top Ten Tuesday (as always hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl) and in the end decided to settle on required reading for my blog. At some point in the future I’d like to have a list of a 100 books of A Dance with Books a.k.a. me. Like the Rory Gillmore reading list. But I feel I am not quite ready for that and so much still comes out every year. So I decided to just start with these ten and who knows, maybe some day they’ll be on that big list.
Guards Guards! | The Shadow of the Gods | The Long Way to a Small Angry Planet | The Golems Eye | A Master of Djinn | Tess off the Road | Indigo Springs | The Witness for the Dead | The Fifth Season | The Epic Crush of Genie Lo
Are any of these a surprise to you? Did you expect me to choose other books?
Am I surprised to find Jonathan Stroud here? No, not at all. xD But man, I’ve got some catching up to do, apparently! I still need to read The Shadow of the Gods (which I’m sure I’m going to LOVE, I just haven’t had time to dedicate to a massive book right now), A Master of Djinn, and The Fifth Season. Glad to see you enjoyed them so much that you would recommend them so highly!

So many of these are (shamefully) still on my TBR and I don’t know why I haven’t picked them up yet! I recommend The Fifth Season (even though I haven’t read it yet) to my bestie who’s currently reading it and absolutely loving it so that makes me even more eager to pick it up soon. And same goes for Master of Djinn and Shadow of the Gods. Great list!

This is a wonderful topic! I have to admit I’ve only read The Long Way To A Small Angry Planet from your list (so far), but many others are on my TBR like The Fifth Season and Tess of the Road. Good luck with Merijn’s first week of school!

Oooh, I really like the idea of a personal Required Reading list! Now you’ve got me thinking about what books I’d add to my own list. I would have a Becky Chambers book on mine also for sure, but I don’t know if it would be one of her Wayfarers books or a Monk & Robot book.

Right? I really liked seeing the rory gillmore list and figured why couldn’t we all have one?
Its hard choosing. I might end up with more than just one on my full list by her 😉

I love your idea of coming up with a list of books that you want others to know you’ve read and potentially have them read too. I haven’t read any of these books, but I know I’d love them because of their topics. There are just too many books to read, lol. Hopefully, we can still read in the afterlife (if you believe in one). Maybe, I’ll have a chance to read everything I want if we can, lol. Thanks for stopping by my TTT!
