Or that is what I am calling it as I am quite happy with all my pretties okay.
The last book haul was only in May and this is already coming your way early in July. But I had a few pre orders come my way and other happy bringings. So that I felt I needed to make a post now as not to have a very big one at a later point.
★ The Tensorate Series by Neon Yang
This is a paperback collection of the Tensorate novella’s. I read the first novella a few years ago but never got around to picking up the next few. This bind-up was perfect and I hope to read it during our camping vacation in July.
★ A Master of Djinn (Dead Djinn Univserse 1) by P. Djeli Clark = READ
This was one of my favorite reads of last year but the hardcover was soooo expensive. So I waited for the price to drop and once I did I pounded on it.
★ The Language of Ghosts by Heather Fawcett
The Dutch edition. It is pretty. The picture doesn’t show but its a bit shiny. This book is one for my 12 books recced by Twitter friends so here we are.
★ Fireheart Tiger by Aliette de Bodard = READ
As I was searching for more Bodard to buy as ebooks I found this for a nice price in paperback so I ordered it.
★ Mission: Critical. Edited by Jonathan Strahan
In the same search I found this anthology pb even cheaper. It has a story by Aliette de Bodard but also by Yoon Ha Lee. So my interest was awakened. And then I saw it was edited by Strahan who also edited The Book of Dragons. I’m going to save this one for sci-fi Month I think.
★ In het Vervloekte Hart by Rima Orie
A book by a Dutch author. Lets forget that I still need to read her other release as well. But this copy was so pretty and I was so happy to see that they gave such an amazing copy to a Dutch author instead of just the already popular English and American authors that I had to buy it for support. And I am genuinely excited.
★ Book of Night by Holly Black
Another pre order that came in was the Dutch edition of Book of Night. I’ve been really curious about it but for a change I wanted to get the Dutch edition. It is really pretty. I will show you more down below.
Ebooks

★ On a Red Station Drifting (Universe of Xuya) by Aliette de Bodard
★ Seven of Infinities (Universe of Xuya) by Aliette de Bodard
★ Of Books, Earth and Courtship (Dominion of the Fallen 0.6) by Aliette de Bodard = READ
★ Lullaby for a Lost World by Aliette de Bodard = READ
Review Copies

★ Zachary Ying and the Dragon Emperor by Xiran Jay Zhao
★ Intergalatic Exterminators, Inc by Ash Bishop
★ The Luminaries (The Luminaries 1) by Susan Dennard
★ Emily Wilde’s Encyclopaedia of Faeries by Heather Fawcett
★ The City Beneath the Stars by Sunya Kudei
★ Signal to Noise by Silvia Moreno-Garcia
★ The Immortality Thief by Taran Hunt
Oooo, I’m glad to see the Tensorate novellas in one handy volume – I’ll have to look out for that as they’ve been on my list for too long.
So many pretty books Annemieke! Happy reading! ❤

The fact that you’re happy with your pretties is the important thing here. xD I still need to read A Master of Djinn! The book looks sooo pretty, though. I also need to read The Language of Ghosts, but it’s definitely a pretty one, too. I’m really excited to read Zachary Ying, too! Looks like you got a lot of great books! Hope you enjoy them all.

Ooh, so many gorgeous covers! What a haul 😍 I love that cover for Master of Djinn and prefer it so much more than the digital version I have, lol. I hope you enjoy all of these reads, Annemieke!

These are all so pretty indeed! I also have a copy of Signal to Noise, I think it’s her first book so I’m very curious to read it.

Yeah I think it was too so I’m curious. So far I love her newer work but haven’t been a fan of her older work. So we’ll have to see.

This is a great list! I’m currently reading and enjoying A Master of Djinn (finally), and I agree that I love my hardcover version, too. So pretty. I have the hardback copy of Seven of Infinities, but the de Bodard book I really want to have a hard copy of is The Tea Master and the Detective. It’s so pretty! I haven’t looked for one lately, though.

These are all so pretty and also sound interesting! I’m going to come back and see what I want to add to Goodreads. 🤗
You found some really great deals. 😎
Are you finding that you are buying more physical editions in Dutch? 📚

Sometimes I wait for the special editions. And I am more inclined to buy mg in Dutch because of Merijn so he can read them in the future. But not more than that really.
