Book Haul 68 | First of the Year 2022

One will know that I cannot refuse a good book. And as such I have not done so in 2022 yet.

The Library of the Dead (Edinburgh Nights 1) by T.L. Huchu
This was my Christmas gift. Since I got approved for the second book. And I have been super curious.

Storm Cursed (Mercy Thompson 11) by Patricia Briggs
Time to be completely caught up this year.

Jade Legacy (Green Bone Saga 3) by Fonda Lee = READ
I was just reading my arc when my time already run out at the half way point. Noooo. So of course I had to get the pb right away. I needed it for my collection anyway.

The God of the Lost Words (Hell’s Library 3) by A.J. Hackwith
I finally got this pretty!

Race to the Sun by Rebecca Roanhorse
In the same order I also finally got this middle grade. Since I still have to wait forever on the Sixth World 3rd book I needed some more Roanhorse

Smoke Bitten (Mercy Thompson 12) by Patricia Briggs
Will I read these before book 13 comes out? I say yes.

Drakenhart (Magcycker 2) by Adrian Stone
I got offered this finished copy for review by the publisher ❤ I enoyed the first one and I got it signed a few years ago. Definitely need to do a reread of the first book first.

Firekeeper’s Daughter by Angeline Bouley
After a pretty hefty therapy session I got this book from husband. Its a bit different from what I usually read but I’m still pretty curious.

  2. I hope you enjoy Firekeeper’s Daughter!

I’m proud of myself; I only bought one book this whole month. Actually, my husband bought it when we were at the thrift store the other day, and I picked up a copy of Phaedra Patrick’s The Library of Lost and Found. I have added a few books from NetGalley, but not many.

      1. Well, there are a lot more stories set in this world! (Universe, really.) De Bodard’s Universe of Xuya series is all loosely tied together—set in the same universe with the same basic world-building, but usually different characters. (Sorry… not sure if you know any of this or not.)

My other favorite Xuya story is Seven of Inifinities, which was published recently. It has different characters, but a similar tone to it.
