Five Sci-Fi Characters I’d Love an Update on | #TopTenTuesday 313 | #SciFiMonth

I am baaack~!

It was only a week but I am sure that you all missed me.

Today we are going to be talking about characters we would love an update on. As it is still sci-fi month so I am going to focus on a few characters from sci-fi books. It might also not surprise you that Becky Chambers characters are at least half of this list.

Ashby from The Long Way to a Small Angry Planet by Becky Chambers

As much as I love the other characters aboard the Wayfarer, Ashby has always been the one that stuck with me the most. As we got hints about him throughout the other wayfarer books I’ve just been so curious to hear what his life is like now.

Aeluon Society from A Closed and Common Orbit by Becky Chambers

The story of Lovey was intertwined with the planet she was in and the Aelun society was one that really stuck with me for its dealings with gender and culture. I would just love to see more and see the Aelun’s characters we met in the book.

Ouloo from The Galaxy and the Ground Within by Becky Chambers

The Galaxy and the Ground Within was a hard hitting book for its characters. And I can’t help but wonder how that left our host Ouloo feeling afterwards.

Female Disabled Albie in The Many Worlds of Albie Bright by Christopher Edge

In The Many Worlds of Albie Bright Albie jumps to alternate worlds and in one he meets a female alternate version of him who is in a weelchair. This girl stuck with me so much in the way she just embraced Albie. I can’t help but wonder how her life went after meeting Albie.

Fura and Adrana from Revenger by Alastair Reynolds

At the end of the trilogy there is still so much left to discover for them and I am just so curious about them and the world they are in. I really hope Reynolds will at least revisit the world.

  1. Welcome back!

I really ought to read A Long Way to a Small, Angry Planet sometime. Everyone keeps saying such good things about it.

    Thanks for stopping by earlier.
