Wrap Up

Dancing out of October 2021

Oh sweet October. I turned 34. I feel old. It was a weird, busy kind of month where I had a hard time focusing. Regardless it was not a bad month I think. You might have seen a very nice blog change happening too…

The Numbers

In October I read a total of 8 books which makes the total of 2021 83 books read.
Of the 8 books 6 books were fantasy and 2 books were detective/mystery .
Out of the 31 days of October I read 9 days which amounted to a total of 2521 pages.
The rating average of this month was 4 stars .

  1. Hammers on Bone (Persona Non Grata 1) by Cassandra Khaw | 4 stars | Novella
  2. The Bone Ships Wake (The Tide Child 3) by R.J. Baker | 5 stars | ARC
  3. Paybacks A Witch (The Witches of Thistle Grove 1) by Lana Harper | 5 stars | ARC
  4. The Book of Stolen Dreams by David Farr | 3 stars | ARC
  5. Tiril en de Toverdrank by Bette Westera | 4 stars | Novella
  6. Murders and Metaphors (Magical Bookshop 3) by Amanda Flower | 4 stars
  7. The Year of the Witching (Bethel 1) by Alexis Henderson
  8. By Book or By Crook (Lighthouse Library Mystery 1) by Eva Gates | 3 stars

I decided to change my reading goal from 120 to 100 because I was just struggling with constantly seeing that number. And honestly, 100 is still a great number to reach.

⌘ We are currently in the process of getting Merijn evaluated and seeing if we can get a diagnosis for him. I don’t want to talk too much about it but I find it a hard process because it just takes a while before we get their advice and all. Meh. Merijn is also struggling a little more with sound this last half of the month so I’m worried about him.

⌘ The first weekend of October I was at a Saturday market. My third market with In Line with Annemieke. But my first time completely on my own. I mean husband came for the last 2 hours but I was on my own from 7.00 to 14.00 to set everything up and all that. So I’m proud of myself considering my anxiety and all that.

⌘ October was busy in that we had 3 birthdays in the family, one of them being mine. My parents were here for a few days.

⌘ Merijn spend his fall vacation at my parents which was good for me. Unfortunately I fell down the stairs though and its taken my body a good 2 weeks to get rid of all the bruises and pain. And honestly, my back is still not a 100%.

⌘ I’m going to have a table at Anderwereld‘s shop day. They are a book store that mostly sells second-hand books. But they also sell a lot of mystery boxes and book boxes online. They started a physical shop last year but I’ve known their online shop for quite a few years. They asked a few shops if we would like to have a table during one or both shop days they were hosting with eye on the holidays. So that will be November 20th. It is a long way for me but I want to do it because it is also just meeting like minded people regardless if I sell something.

  1. Happy birthday (again) from another October baby! I almost laughed when you said you’re feeling old because I am 12 years older than you.

I hope that you find the answers you are looking for concerning your little one. Not knowing what is happening is the scariest thing, especially when it’s you’re baby. Lots of love and hugs from me to you and him!

En ik ben helemaal fan van je nieuwe layout. Die draakjes zijn zooooo schattig!
Veel succes en courage nog in de zoektocht met het zoontje.

  3. Happy birthday (again) to you! I remember 34 being a good year for me, so I hope it is for you as well!

Congrats on all the progress you’ve made with your shop! The Anderwereld’s shop day sounds like a lot of fun, and a great opportunity to meet new people. I hope it goes well for you!
