Yes we are looking back at another book haul. It is my birthday on the 12th and I think it is interesting to look back and see what I have read from the books I got last year. I did the same thing last year only with more birthday book hauls from the past.
I always get a lot of books because that is what I ask for, for my birthday generally. And I’ve been getting more and more each year. I love it.

So that is 10 out of 18 books. Pretty decent I would say. I got/asked for The Astonishing Color of After because I knew I’d like to read that one day but just not right away. That still stands. Just not been in the right mood for that one but I will get to it. The Brightest Fell was really cheap in a sale. I am nowhere near caught up with the October Daye books but I will be. The Doors of Eden is so big. I have not been ready for that.
It is amazing that I haven’t read the last book of The Trials of Apollo. I usually read Rick Riordan books as soon as I get them. But this last year has been strange and I am dreading saying goodbye to Apollo. I think I will like The Year of the Witching and I’m kind of saving it for Halloween/November. As for We Set the Dark on Fire and Lobizona, they’ve been on my immediate tbr cart but I just haven’t been up to my usual reading and a lot of time has gone to reading arcs this year.
All in All I don’t think it is too bad. I also have ideas about the books I haven’t read. They haven’t been forgotten.
I can’t wait to see what I will get this year. *wink*
10/18 is pretty awesome! I tend to put off reading all books for a very long time even when I don’t intend to ๐ I still need to read Drowned Country but looking forward to that one. Also totally agree with being in the right mood for The Astonishing Color of Afterโit’s such an intensely emotional read! I hope you enjoy it whenever you pick it up though ๐

Isn’t it so much fun to get books you don’t know yet?! I’ve gotten 5 books this year and hadn’t read them yet.
Friends and family are a bit scared to give me books because they’re afraid I’ve already read it or maybe it’s already on my shelves.

People are scared to give me random books because I have such a different taste and have read so much already. So usually they just pick from a list of books I’d still like to get. Still a surprise but they’ll know I haven’t gotten it yet and want to get it. haha.

Good question, because I sure haven’t read any of the books I got for my birthday in May. I don’t know what I’m doing! 10/18 is pretty good though. I hope you get to read the rest as well and enjoy it. And hey, there is always Daughter of the Deep if you need some Uncle Rick pick me up when you’re done with Apollo. ๐

Haha. Doing well with other books. ๐
Ah I want to read that. But I’m just going to miss Apollo.

10/18 is great, especially with one of them being a book that you want to have available for when you’re ready for it, and another being part of a series that you haven’t caught up to yet. (I have books in both of those categories on my shelves, too.)

Sometimes we just need to have those on our shelves. Some day our eye will fall on it when it is the right time.

Exactly! We all need a “someday” book.

I haven’t read all of the books I got for my birthday last year, because my husband took me to a discount bookstore for my birthday. He spent close to $100, and I ended up with around 15 books.
I understand the bittersweet feeling of reading the Rick Riordan book. I got it for Christmas, and I was torn between wanting to read it and know what happens and not wanting to read it because it means the end for Apollo. In the end, I did read it, but not until March or April (I think).

Oh that is awesome!
I really need to get to it. Maybe at the start of the new year when I’ve gone through most of my arcs and there is more room.

๐ Zo las ik deze maand het minste van dit jaar (denk ik alleszins) maar heb ik wel nieuwe boeken besteld.

Ik heb ondertussen nog een boek er van gelezen ๐
Ach zolang wij blij worden van boeken maakt het ook niet uit toch?
