Ack. I don’t even know where to start. This was yet again such a busy and weird month. I really hope October slows down. Says she who had a market on October 2nd.
The Numbers
In September I read a total of 5 books which makes the total of 2021 75 books read.
Of the 5 books all books were fantasy .
Out of the 30 days of September I read 11 days which amounted to a total of 2078 pages.
The rating average of this month was 3,9
- Once Ghosted Twice Shy ( Ghosted Cozy Mystery 1) by Jessica Arden | 4 stars | ARC
- Ninth House (Alex Stern 1) by Leigh Bardugo | 4 stars
- The Last Graduate ( Scholomance 2) by Naomi Novik | 4 stars
- Dark and Shallow Lies by Ginny Myers Sain | 3,5 stars | ARC
- The Book of Dragons. Edited by Jonathan Strahan. | 4 stars
All the above books fitted for the magical readathon. I read 5 out of 7 prompts so that was good since I only needed two to complete the novice path. But I still would have preferred all 7. Ah well.
⌘ September started off pretty decently. Merijn was rather relaxed for the start of the school year and the weather was still nice which always helps him greatly.
⌘ I was busy with a lot of volunteering things. I do the school library at Merijn’s school with a few other moms and all of a sudden we had a course and then later an appt with the library person assigned to our school.
⌘ I also organised the green community day for our playground where I got rid of stingy bushes and remade it to an insect hotel and growing some fruits and veggies. You can see a few photos at the tweet down below
⌘ Then I had a stand at Yalfu a dutch young adult festival. It was fun to see but I also had some things I’d like to give as feedback. Like the last 90 minutes nobody came upstairs which really hits your sales. Regardless I got to see an interview of Taran Matharu and some dutch authors and I heard Angie Thomas (livestream) over the radio when I was at my stand. We also got a goodie bag so that was fun.
⌘ In between those things I also had a small concussion. Merijn almost fell out of the big playground thing because he was carying too many things and as I caught him he dropped his big paw patrol car on my head. That was not cool. And gave me a small concussion. So that was a full week I could do nothing. Reading was really hard too.
⌘ The week after that Merijn was sick and again I had a few days where I could do nothing because he was puking and (obviously) asking for a lot of attention.
⌘ These last few days of September I tried to relax and get ready for a market on October 2nd. Luckily a lot is still packed up from Yalfu so that helped.
⌘ I also put up a lot of new items on my etsy! Bookish goodies!

I love the garden project! Knowing that kids are going to be able to use that space makes all the work worth it, I’m sure😁

The Dutch YA festival looks so cute – love those little stickers. 🙂 What did you think of Ninth House? I know it’s such a hit or miss for people, but I quite enjoyed it despite the very slow start.
Hope you have a great October, Annemieke!

Glad you’re feeling better and that school is going well for your guy. My daughter has really changed since school started back this September, and I mean that in a good way.
