Thank you to Josie Jaffrey for the review copy in exchange for an honest review. This does not change my opinion in anyway.

Dying’s easy. Lying’s hard.
Cam never wanted to come to Oxford. He’s only here because he followed Ed, the man he loves, but Ed’s more interested in his experiments than he is in Cam.
It looks like it’s going to be a boring few years, until Cam stumbles into a crime scene and unwittingly becomes a key witness. He faces a choice: continue being bored, or go undercover to help the Seekers to track down the culprit.
If only he knew how to tell a lie.

Blood Work is a prequel story to the Seekers story and the whole Silverse universe. It focuses on Cam, a side character in the Seeker series and a friend to our main character. We get bits and hints about him throughout those two books but in this short story we get how he came to be a part of the seekers.
The story in itself focuses on an act of violence done by a vampire. The seekers are there to keep the vampires in line according to the laws set out from above about how to be around the humans. Cam witnessess an act of violence and it stirs in him a need to help out with the seeker on the case.
It is an interesting story that gives us a bit of background on various characters. Cam of course as our main character. It shows how he came to oxford and came a part of the seekers. It shows a slightly different guy who came to be with the love of his life, Ed. I was neutral towards Ed in the series but now I want to smack him good. Their relationship is not healthy. He does not treat Cam right. We also see Killian and Boyd.
