Last week I wasn’t really feeling the topic so I skipped it. I feel like it hasn’t been too long that I did a topic with books that made me laugh, and I would just be rehashing it. As for this week, jobs in books I wish I had, I am sure there are some I’d like. But my mind is drawing such a big blank. My memory is not doing all that great at the moment.
So instead I thought I’d grab onto a topic that we will have in May as well. I have been having a hard time reviewing the books I’ve been reading, and while for some there will be reviews I thought a small idea of what I have been reading and what I thought of it, would be nice.

A Winter’s Promise and The Missing of Claredeluna (La Passe-Miroir 1&2) by Christelle Dabos
I’m a little late hopping on this train but I have been charmed by our resident mirror walker and overly-structured man. Now I just need to wait until the Dutch release comes out this October. *wails*
River Marked (Mercedes Thompson 6) by Patricia Briggs
Continuing on with this series slowly. I enjoyed this book but not as strong as others.
Reaper of Souls (Kingdom of Souls 2) by Rena Barron
A very interesting installment but it wasn’t as strong as the first book.
Boyfriend Material by Alexis Hall
A very entertaining contemporary read that I needed inbetween my fantasy.
The Conductors (Murder and Magic 1) by Nicole Glover
This is my absolute favorite book of the year so far. I fell in love with the characters, the relationships and the world.
Beginnings and Wrecked (Shadow Sentinels 0.5 and 1) by Karen Tomlinson
Yes hello sexy urban fantasy. The novella was a little all over the place but Wrecked was a very solid story.
Amari and the Night Brothers (Supernatural Investigations 1) by B.B. Alston
I didn’t love this as much as I wanted to (still a 4 stars though) but I’m not sure if that was my mood or the book…
Winter’s Orbit by Everina Maxwell
A highly anticipated release that worked very well for me.
Great list! I need to read Amari and the Night Brothers and I really want to get to Winter’s Orbit soon, too.

This year I will read Kingdom of Souls. Sorry to hear you didn’t like the sequel quite as much as the first book. I have not been great with reviews this year either. I’m trying to find that balance between writing them and not forcing myself to write them when I am not feeling it.

It certainly wasn’t bad but it was just such an inbetween book, you know?
