Sometimes when I’m in bed I consider my books. Most specifically my tbr. Recently I have been getting more middle grade books. You all know that this is a target group of books I quite enjoy. I was thinking of making a list of the ones that I own and that are unread, and then making that a goal. And then I thought why not make it a reading challenge? So here we are. I checked to see if there were any other middle grade reading challenges for 2021 and could not find any.

Goal
Read as many middle grade books in 2021 as you can, and if able, review them. I’ve thought about adding levels here but in the end decided to leave it, and keep it as open as possible.
Participation
- Share your intent to participate with a blog post that links back here, a post on social media using the tag #LetUsReadMG2021 or make a shelf on goodreads and leave a link down below.
- Make a list of the books you’d like to read during the year.
- Read a middle grade during January 1st to December 31st in 2021
- If possible review the book on your blog and/or on Goodreads/Storygraph
- Drop what you read and review link in the google form or below in the comment box. At the end I’d love to have a post where what everyone read and even reviewed be all together.
What I Want to Read
I read 22 middle grade books in 2020 of 157 and that doesn’t seem to be a lot for someone who loves middle grade so much. So I’d like to read at least 30. Below is what I have on my direct list.

I just commented on one of your other posts that I have done away with goals/challenges this year buuuuut I may join you for this one. The past few years I’ve had a personal goal of reading 52 middle grade books, which I have never quite reached, and this year it is sort of an unofficial goal… so I may jump in later down the road 🙂

How did I miss this? I think this is fabulous! I’m really bad at follow-through, so I don’t know that I’ll officially sign up, but I definitely will be reading more middle grade this year and looking forward to seeing what everyone else is reading.
I actually just got the Serafina series, and I’ve been wanting to read that. I really want to pick up Over the Woodward Wall soon, too, and I’ll be reading the Dragons in a Bag series this/next week! I think you’ll love Tristan Strong #2 and Amari when you’re able to get them. 😀 Some of my favorite reads from last year!

I really need to get Tristan Strong 2. I really enjoyed Amari when I read it last month!

I think you’ll love Tristan Strong 2. It is so much more powerful and emotional than the first book (which was amazing to start with).
