Turtle Recall | Wrap Up 2020

Turtle Recall, my second own reading challenge that is reappearing in 2021. My goal was to read more Discworld books and do this together with some other people. That I achieved for sure. While the goodreads group isn’t super active, there are some of us active and we love a good bit of Discworld.

What Was My Goal?

Level 3 / Lancre / 11-15 Books

level 1(1)

Lancre is a place on the Unnamed Continent and lies in the Ramtop Mountains. It is a major earthing point for Discworld’s magic and as such you will often see witches and walking trees abound. It is quite unknown how big Lancre truly is because of the mountain area, but mostly of all because of the magic warping things.

The Books I Read

  1. Terry Pratchett’s Discworld Imaginarium by Paul Kidby | Companion
  2. Equal Rites by Terry Pratchett | Witches Arc
  3. The Amazing Maurice and His Educated Rodents by Terry Pratchett
  4. Guards! Guards! by Terry Pratchett | City Watch Arc
  5. Going Postal by Terry Pratchett | Moist von Lipwig Arc
  6. Making Money by Terry Pratchett | Moist von Lipwig Arc
  7. Raising Steam by Terry Pratchett | Moist von Lipwig Arc
  8. Seriously Funny: The Endlessly Quoatable Terry Pratchett | Companion +
  9. Hogfather by Terry Pratchett | Death Arc | Reread

+ Counting this because it is mostly Discworld quotes anyway, lol.

Did I Achieve My Goal?

So clearly not. I was so very, very close but Covid-19 just got in the way. I was off to a good start but then the lockdown came with an upset kiddo in March. I started faltering, only reading the readalong books. And I never really was able to get it back up to what I needed. That just seems to be the theme of my wrap ups this year, ha. I decided not to pressure myself in the last month which was a good thing because we got hit with another lockdown before the Christmas vacation, and Merijn was stuck at home earlier than he should have been.
