So here we are again for another tag. You guys know I am always up for a good tag! This time I was tagged by Hundreds and Thousands from Hundreds and Thousands Books. You can read their answers here.
This tag is based on The School for Good and Evil by Soman Chainani. I read this one a few years ago and wasn’t very taken by it. But that doesn’t mean I can’t answer these questions.
The Rules
- Link to the original tag’s creator: Sabrina @ Notes From a Paper Plane Nomad! (I’m also using her graphics, they’re so great!)
- Thank whoever tagged you and link back to their post!
- Pick a book that fits each prompt.
- Tag whoever, as many or as few as you like!
- Post these rules and list of prompts in your tag post.
Coral by Sara Ella. I wasn’t quite sure how to feel about this book before and during reading it because it really hit me in an emotional way. You can read my review here.
Girl, Serpent, Thorn by Melissa Bashardoust. Soraya has been hidden away, has been used to having to hide apart of her, not interacting with a lot of people. And throughout the story she finds more about who she is and that it is okay to be who you are.
The Poet X by Elizabeth Acevedo. One of those books I eyed for a bit before finally picking it up. But it was so good. The way it is written makes this a very unforgettable book.
Revenger by Alastair Reynolds. Okay so the Revenger crew isn’t entirely girlish throughout the series but the most important ones are.
One of my favorites will always be Uprooted by Naomi Novik but I also understand why someone people don’t get with it. But I am also very fond ofThorn by Intisar Khanani.
There are just not enough people that talk about Where the Stars Rise! Not only is the cover stunning but all the stories are Asian SFF. What more could you want? It has Fonda Lee, Amanda Sun, Jeremy Szal and a lot of authors I had never heard of before but have been taking an interest in. So please, please pick it up. You can read my review here.
I think I might be going with Holland from A Darker Shade of Magic by V.E. Schwab.
I quite enjoy the collaboration between Marjorie M. Liu and Sana Takeda in the graphic novel series Monstress. It is just such a good series.
A Discovery of Witches. I know this is a popular book and series but this was such a chore to read. Still in my time of never finishing a book or I would have tossed it through the room I am sure.
Jade City and Jade War by Fonda Lee. I swear, at every turn I wonder what Fonda is going to do to tear our hearts out.
