Dancing out of July 2020

July seemed like a decent month but we still aren’t really a-okay. There were some struggle throughout the month though not that much happened. Reading also lessened again with Merijn more home again.

Reading Challenge(2)

⌘ Merijn had his last day of pre-school on July 3rd and then his Summer vacation started. He spend the first full week of that at my parents, then a week at home and then I went with him for a week at my parents. Summer vacation is hard on him, especially this year as he is going to primary school after the Summer. He’s been asking daily about when he goes to school and in general as not been feeling so great at periods. I hope he’ll feel better in August.

⌘ I’ve had some up and down days. When we were are my parents I managed to sprain my ankle/foot and then had to drive home. A drive that should have been 3 hours but ended up being 4,5 hours because of various traffic stops. To say that my foot/ankle hurt would be an understatement. It still hurts if I do too much.

⌘ I’ve also been having a hard time falling asleep or when I wake up in the middle of the night and I can’t fall back asleep. That is hard.

⌘ Covid-19 seems to be hitting a second wave in the countries around us and it is also taking a bit of a rise in the Netherlands in certain areas. Not where I live nor where my parents live. It is interesting to see how the tourists from other countries are complaining about us not having a mask rule (only for public transport). You could just not come to the Netherlands and stay in your own country (who mostly seem to be having harder hitting second waves than us) But the tourists I’ve seen haven’t been keeping to our rules of the distance and only 1 adult per family in the store so I mean, stop complaining.

Rewatched the episodes I’d already seen and finally completed this season.

Team Umizoomi | Season 1 | Ep 1 to 19 | Completed
Bubble Guppies | Season 5 | Ep 1 to 3
Been watching these with Merijn of course lol

Back to the Future | Movie | Rewatch
Back to the Future 2 | Movie | Rewatch

The Fall | Season 1 | Ep 1-2
I just started watching this at random.

The Andromeda Strain (2008) | Mini Series | Completed

  1. I’m with you on the reactions to the COVID-19 second wave. In the last couple of weeks we in the UK had a load of people flocking to beaches and our tourist hotspots on the south coast, not social distancing, not exactly caring about the people around them and now they are going mad that certain areas are under a local lockdown again. It’s irritating. I wouldn’t mind but our lockdown rules don’t make sense either.

On a more positive note, I’ve been on a Midsomer Murders kick as well. I’m currently re-watching series 14 and I still love watching it, even though I often forget what happens in some of the episodes.

    1. Its just terrible. Some people really don’t understand how they are messing everything up.

They are so much fun to rewatch. I always loved the ones with Tom. But I’m getting more and more used to the ‘new one’ (lol he’s been at it for a few seasons now).

  2. I’m so happy you enjoyed Bone Crossed. I love when people talk about Mercy Thompson. This series deserves all the love (and I can’t believe I’m so far behind it!). If everyone took Covid-19 seriously, maybe we wouldn’t have to be so worried about the effects the second wave will have.

    Happy readings!

  4. I hope Merijn feels better! Going to primary school can be a bit of a scary transition, but hopefully he’ll enjoy it when he gets there. I hope your foot is feeling better soon, too. Sprains stink. x.X Been there, done that … a lot. Turns out being clumsy is bad for your health lol. Thank you for sharing my link. ❤ Here's to hoping you have a happy and healthy August!

  5. Oof, I’m sorry about your ankle! I fractured mine when I was younger, and I’ve had other issues with it too so I know how painful and annoying that can be. I hope you are feeling fully better soon. Sorry about the dumb tourists not following the rules. It’s so ridiculous to me how selfish people can be. Numbers are going up all over the U.S. It’s not AS bad in my state as others, but I feel like it’ll get worse as we go along, so *fingers crossed* I’m wrong. LOL

    1. The numbers in the US are so scary and I don’t understand why people are fighting so hard against it there. Fingers crossed your state will just get better numbers.

  6. Oh I am sorry about the ankle. And yay to 11 books in a month. Sounds like a great deal to me. I hate people not following the rules, complain about others. Great list!

  7. Oh gosh, I am sorry to hear that you’re also getting a 2nd wave.. I hope it won’t be as bad as in my state! We were down to single digits and now there are 400-800 new cases a day & we’re in stage 4 lockdown. It sucks and people are still not sticking to the new rules…

    1. Yeah we’re hitting about 300-400 a day now too I think but over the whole country. But it is very limited to a few areas so not where I or my parents life. We’re not really in a lockdown (our goverment tried to keep things as loose as possible and don’t want to put the screws back on just yet) so we’ll see.

  8. Thank you so, so much for sharing my post, so happy you enjoyed it ❤
I'm so sorry to hear about your ankle, I hope it will get better soon. I broke my foot AND sprained my ankle all at once a couple of years ago and…. now I'm just like these old people, my foot hurting when it's damp or rains 😂😂
I'm happy you enjoyed Spin the Dawn and its sequel! I need to read the sequel soon. And yay! I loved Girl, Serpent Thorn as well.
Happy reading and have a beautiful month! ❤ Take care and stay safe!

  9. I hope your ankle is better now and that you are getting more sleep. Sleep is so important and I know when I can’t sleep, my next day is awful. Great job with reading time in July. I have Spin the Dawn but have not read it yet.
