6 Books with Death That Destroyed Me | #TopTenTuesday

For today we are suppose to be talking about book events/festivals I’d love to go to someday for Top Ten Tuesday (As always hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl). However I am not that interested in those so I am going a completely different route.

Some books just manage to destroy. They turn you inside and outside. And some books do that by death of characters. Now I am not going to spoil who or what happens of course but I am going to share which books were at fault with this particular. It bears to mention that I rated almost all of these books 5 stars as well. So there…

Jade City and Jade War by Fonda Lee

In Jade City I just couldn’t believe it. I was so sure that it was fake. That seems to be the general reaction to it I’ve seen. And in Jade War, well tear out my heart why don’t you.

The Shepherds Crown (Discworld 41, Tiffany Aching 5) by Terry Pratchett

This book was always going to be loaded. It was released after Terry Pratchett’s death  so everything in this was going to kick my ass to be honest.

The Sword of Kaigen by M.L Wang

My heart. My heart could not take this. :_: Also if you have not yet grabbed this book, please do because it is incredible.

The Bitter Twins (The Winnowing Flame 2) by Jen Williams

This one hurt so much.

Coral by Sara Ella

I thought it wasn’t going to happen and then it did, and it a 100% destroyed me.

  1. I’m not sure I’ll ever be able to read TSC again tbh, it’s too raw, I’ll just have to pretend Tiffany’s arc ended on ‘I Shall Wear Midnight’!

  2. I haven’t read any of these, but shocking deaths are always the hardest in fiction! Especially when it’s a character we love. ❤

  3. Jade City has been on and off my TBR – I don’t really do gangster stories so I’m kind
of torn, but I might give it a chance sometime. Interesting list!
