May was better than some of the other months mental health wise. It has been easier to take breaks and hide in books with Merijn going to pre-school. The weather has been pretty good too. A Dance with Books turned 5 so that happened.
The Numbers
In May I read a total of 21 books which makes the total of 2020 71 books read.
Of the 21 books 17 books were fantasy, 2 books were contemporary and 2 books were sci-fi.
Out of the 31 days of May I read 19 days which amounted to a total of 5572 pages. My best reading day was May 6th with 800+ pages.
The rating average of this month was 3,88.

I’ve fallen behind on the readalongs for my own readathon but I know that I shouldn’t pressure myself. With everything that went on it is not weird.

June Plan: Who Even Knows Anymore...
⌘ Merijn started pre-school again and he is complaining because he has to listen to the rules haha. But I know he enjoys being there when he is there. Just don’t ask him if he had a good time. Kids huh. It is giving me some more room to read as you might have picked up from the reading list above.
⌘ Aiko turned 1 this month and we got her tubes tied (she’s a cat). She gets to be a outside more and it turns out she is a bit of a hunter. We found a half eaten mouse in our backyard. And one morning she surprised me with an alive bird before 8.00 am. She just took it inside with her. I saved it, luckily.
⌘ As for me, mental health wise I have been mostly okay. I’ve been tired a lot. I got to meet my psychologist and I think we get along so that is good. But I also had a sad because someone I knew passed away this last week. It affected me more than I thought it would. Things are also happening around my fil (the one who had a brain hemorrhage in March) which also keeps our minds occupied somewhat.
Edit June 2nd: This was a pre-planned post and I didn’t get the chance to add in what is going on in America. I say America because that is where the focus lies right now. But Black Lives Matter should be important throughout the world. It is important for us with white privilege to be allies to our black community. We do that through boosting their voices, signing and sharing petitions, donating and sharing funds, speaking up against those that are racist or show racist behavior. I find this site to be particular helpful for petitions as an international person.
If you want to read and see what I posted for Wyrd and Wonder you can check out my wrap up for that here. There are 21 posts there alone so lots to discover still. Today I’m just going to link the things that didn’t fit with Wyrd and Wonder.

Looks like you got through a lot of good books in May, I hope that continues into June. Merijn knows rules should be optional and I respect him for it. I’m sorry for your loss, please be gentle with yourself during this time ❤

Happy fifth blogoversary! I’m glad to hear you’ve been doing better mental health-wise but sorry for your loss – that’s always painful. Glad you got a lot of reading done, though.
Hope you’ll have an amazing June!
