Reasons Why I Love Doing Wyrd and Wonder | #wyrdandwonder | #toptentuesday 238

It is May and for a few years now I have been participating in Wyrd and Wonder during this month. Wyrd and Wonder, what is that you ask?

As Imyril says: The annual fantasy blogstraganza will be back this May! Join us to explore imaginary worlds; to uncover the mysteries beneath the skin of familiar streets; to be inspired by superheroes or beguiled by the Fae.

Basically during this month we celebrate our love for fantasy through blogging, blog hopping to each others, reading, watching and playing anything fantasy. During this month I always like to theme my top ten tuesday posts to fantasy as well. And so for this Reasons Why I love for top ten tuesday (as always hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl) is why I love doing Wyrd and Wonder!

Wyrd and Wonder Celebrates Fantasy

Of course this has to be first and foremost mentioned. Fantasy is my favorite genre, and most of this blog focuses on fantasy books. But I do like to diverge towards a few other genres too and with Wyrd and Wonder I just get the celebrate the wonder that is fantasy.

Wyrd and Wonder Likes Jokes

You have to be able to not take yourself to seriously and Wyrd and Wonder never does that. I love that about it. It is so easy to settle in between everyone. There certainly can be some giggling interactions between the hosts and the joinees.

Wyrd and Wonder Has a Wonderful Community

It is great to be joined by likeminded people like you and it is even more fun when so very often it is the same people that jump on board. I think for the most part we have a very settled group of people that do Wyrd and Wonder. And every year we get some new people joining too. The Wyrd and Wonder community is growing slowly. Everyone is enthousiastic and I got to know a few great people along the way.

Wyrd and Wonder Is Well Organized

Wyrd and Wonder is well organized. It gets announced well ahead of time. There is always a master schedule for us to fill in our posts, what we are planning and the links when it does post. It makes it easy for the rest of us to blog hop as well as for the hosts to find our posts. I enjoy seeing what everyone is planning and their creativity.

We Do It Together

And lastly, Wyrd and Wonder is something we do together. It has never felt like the hosts were above us but among us. I know that sounds stupid, but sometimes there are events where that does happen, online too. It can be hard to be apart of the even as host but I feel that is never quite the case here.

So please go and visit the three lovely hosts:

  4. I heard about it a week into May! I had never heard of it before but I’m doing two middle grade readathons this month and thought I’d wait until next year to jump in!! 🙂

  5. I never realize W&W is happening until it’s already happening — and I’m a planner. Maybe one year I’ll get into it. Is it always May?

I’m glad the community is so wonderful! This sounds like a great readathon to participate in!

  7. Awwwwww I’m blushing! Thank you ❤ I think I can speak for all three of us when I say we love doing this and we totally see this as a big group party we get to vaguely point in a direction and we tag along for the stories – so I'm glad it feels like that to you too 🙂
