top ten tuesday

Five Books I Enjoyed But Rarely Talk About | #toptentuesday 234

There are always those books that one enjoys but rarely talks about. Sometimes I just don’t have anything to say. Other times I just kind of forget or don’t have the time between review copies and the like. And others it is because I read the book before my book blogging time.

So today (for top ten tuesday as always hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl) I’m going to talk about a few books that fit into this category.

Sunbolt (Sunbolt Chronicles 1) by Intisar Khanani

Intisar is getting a bit more attention now with the release of Thorn having come out at the end of March. But did you know she has written more? Sunbolt is what introduced me to her and her writing. The ideas and the world in Sunbolt worked so well for me.

Where the Stars Rise: Asian Science Fiction and Fantasy.Edited by Lucas K. Law and Derwin Mak.

Where the Stars Rise has an amazing cover and such great stories, I was sure it was going to lift of. Yet it never did and this saddens me greatly. It is my favorite anthology.

Enchanted Inc. (Enchanted Inc. 1) by Shanna Swendson

I read this so many years ago and sometimes it might have popped up for you as I reread it. Its a bit of a magical chicklit that just amuses me to no end. It is just one of those books where the main character lives your secret fantasies haha.

Revenger (Revenger 1) by Alastair Reynolds

Ah Revenger is such a lovely sci-fi tale of two twin sisters in such an interesting world.

Gilded Cage (Dark Gifts 1) by Vic James

I came for the pretty covers. I stayed for the twat that is Silyen.

    1. I certainly would rec it. It is a ya by Alastair Reynolds so I’ve gathered its a bit different from his usual work in that way but it is certainly one you have to give a chance for yourself.

  2. Enchanted Inc is on my TBR, but I’ve never gotten around to it. I have the same problem as you with books I read before blogging! Even though I’ve been blogging for a very long time now, there are still plenty of books I read before I blogged about books.
