Now that most of the wrapping up of goals of 2019 is done It is time to start looking at my 2020 goals. Some new ideas here. I’ve let some ones go like reading classics and the like. I might look and see what I did read in that at the end of the year but I am not going to make a goal out of it.
Goodreads Reading Challenge 0/60
With everything that is going on with Merijn and my own depression I think it is best just to go for a safe goal again. Even though I doubled it in 2019 I just don’t know how things will go and I can always move the goal up if I want to.
5 Star Predictions for 2020
- Tilly and the Lost Fairytales by Anna James
- The Black Prism by Brent Weeks
- The Shadow of What Was Lost by James Islington
- Tristan Strong Punches a Hole in the Sky by Kwame Mbalia
- The Ten Thousand Doors of January by Alix E. Harrow
Reading Those Series 0/15
The last few years I’ve been working on reading those series on my shelves. I would write down the series I wanted to work on but also keep track of other series I finished. Amazingly I usually did not complete the series I wrote down but instead did read and finish other series.
So for this year I just want to read the series on my shelves. I think 15 is going to be a good number. This is finishing series mostly but I am still going to keep track of series I am up to date on.
Mini Goals
Reread Foundryside before reading Shorefall
Reread The Bone Season
Read The Rain Wild Chronicles 0/4
Finish the Riyria Revelations 3/6
Read the Books from my November German Amazon Haul 3/15
Other Reading Challenges
Of course I am participating in my own two reading challenges for reading big tomes and more Discworld. And as posted I will be doing the #startonyourshelfathon and #armedwithabingo! And last minute I am doing another round of Year of the Asian Reading Challenge.
My only reading goal this year is reading 100 books. Maybe I’ll join something else but I doubt it haha. I would also love to reread some more.

Good luck! I also have a few series that I need to finish up this year.

Somehow we never finish them naturally.

Good luck with your goals! I want to continue some old series I have since forever- I did pretty well last year and I hope to continue my streak this year! 🙂

That is great. I hope this year will be the same!

Good luck with all your 2020 goals! I respect that you’ve dropped down your Goodreads reading goal. I dropped mine this year, also. However, I don’t think it matters what I put in that goal– I’ll just always read what I read!
I also aspire to finish in-progress series. Are there any series in particular which come to mind you know you want to finish this year?

Agreed. I tend to hit over 60 most times anyway but I never want to feel the pressure.
I mean yeah like The Others which I have finished in January. Yeay. But also some series I started last year.

I think the only real goals I have this year are to read a Newbery winner each month and listen to either War and Peace, or Ulysses in entirety. 🎧
Good luck with your goals! 🍀

Good luck with those. I want to read War and Peace one day but probably when I am a bit older haha.
