Sometimes one gets random ideas. A good six months ago I had a random idea for sci-fi month. Hello brain. Could you not. Of course I had to make questions to these tv-shows that I had a hard time answering again because apparently that is my brand!

Stargate SG-1
A Book with Wormholes
The Long Way to a Small, Angry Planet by Becky Chambers has a sort of wormhole that takes them on a ride.
Stargate Atlantis
A Retelling Set in Space
Second Star by J.M. Sullivan is a Peter Pan retelling set in space. First on a spaceship and later on a planet. I did not end up loving this one though. Not at all to be honest.
Stargate Universe
A Book With Characters Taken A Long Way From Home
To Be Taught, If Fortunate by Becky Chambers focuses on a group of scientists who are exploring various planets on lifeforms and the abbility to sustain life. They are very far from home and were suspended in animation during the trip through space.
Star Trek
A Book with Space Discovery or Visiting Multiple Planets
In Defy the Stars by Claudia Gray we visit quite a few planets along the way.
Defiance
A Book with Multiple Alien Races
The novella Warp Gate Concerto by Dorian Graves mentions and shows us a variety of alien races
Fringe
A Book that Uses the Term or Has Pseudo-Science
The Zanna Function by Daniel Wheatley has its pseudo-science I would say but to be honest, a lot of sci-fi things border on pseudo-science.
Fallen Skies
A Book with an Alien Invasion
Binti by Nnedi Okorafor. Not so much a planet but a ship in this instance.
The 100
A Book in Which a Group Tries to Survive Against All Odds
Pitch Dark by Courtney Alameda is about the survival on a stranded ship.
12 Monkeys
A Book with Time Travel
I am going with The Little Shop of Found Things by Paula Brackston here.
Battlestar Galactica
A Book Where Humans Own Creation Turns Against Them
The Outside by Ada Hoffman where the robots created became Gods.
The 4400
A Book with Alien Abduction
Rejoice: A Knife to the Heart by Steven Erikson in a way has an alien abduction. Unfortunately I did not enjoy this book at all.
Extant
A Book with an Android/Robot/Cyborg as a main character
How could I not use The Murderbot Diaries here?

Hallo, Hallo Annemieke,
I’ve started to visit with everyone this weekend now that I have some posts of my own under my belt and my first TBR Spine Poetry for #SciFiMonth!! 🙂 (big smiles) Of all the books you’ve listed I have Defy the Stars on my TBR as well as featured it in my poem – I haven’t had the chance yet to listen to it but its good to know its a multi-galaxy journey as I love those Soft and Hard SciFi stories which take you on the ‘journey’ through space – which is why The Clan Chronicles would be the response I would give for that prompt!
You’ve given me a good think about if I can do this post or not… I’ll see if I can sort it out closer to the end of the month after I’ve read most of my stories for Sci Fi November and then piece together which of those fit the prompts and which of the stories I’ve read for prior Sci Fi Month’s would also fit… lovely idea!!
I’m a Trek girl from wayy back – so the whole Gene Roddenberry universe is my jam! I purposely and decidedly boycotted the ‘other’ bloke who took it over; #justNO. So I definitely can relate to Star Trek (TOS) being given as a prime example of wicked good sci fi on tv! I truly loved watching TOS, TNG, DS9 & Voyager – missed Enterprise completely but aspire to first get a renewal for CBS All Access to stream the series and eventually *knock on wood* purchase ALL of them on dvd seasonals. I still remember going to see my first Trek film (The Undiscovered Country) in movie theaters!! That was a SERIOUSLY big honour for me!! 🙂 I grew up with a fondness for this series via my Dad and my Mum. Dad used to tape the show to see after work — such good memories!
The *original!* Battlestar Gallactica is my favourite — gosh, I’d love to get that on seasonal dvd as well! I don’t have any other reference points for the rest of the series as I avoided them – except for Stargate it was a scheduling conflict at the time – you know when you couldn’t see them #ondemand and had to see them first running on cable? lol Aging myself here.
Can we switch out the tv series but keep the prompts? If we loved series that fit that category but are ones we can identify with better? That was the one question I had?!
Overall, I can’t wait to pull this together and will give you full credit – (who wouldn’t?) and tag/tweet you after it goes live — expect this towards the 25th!?

Defy the Stars was a lot of fun and its sequel takes it a little further. I still need to read the third book though.
I made the prompts mysefl and then was like, yikes, can I even answer them haha. And yes you can switch out the tv series if that works better for you.
I think my first real intro to start trek was the next generation. Then Voyager and later Saturdays were sci-fi shows for a while so they showed stargate, battle star and then Enterprise. I watched the first season but could never really get into it.

Omg omg I MUST DO THIS because you have listed two of my ALL TIME favorite shows (The 100 obv, and 12 Monkeys!) and yep I love me some sci-fi, I am going to have to check out the others too! Also can I just say that your graphics are ADORABLE? Loveee. So I told you my faves (they are definitely #1 and 2) but let’s see… I love The Expanse! Travelers was AWESOME why was it canceled?! Ditto The Passage- I loved it almost as much as 12 Monkeys and I am just so SAD. OOH Dark! I love Dark! Well I should stop because I could be here all day hah LOVE this tag!

Yeay do it! And thank you!
I really want to watch The Expanse but I think I’ll try the books first since I have the first one. And yes I really liked The Passage show, much better than the book to be honest so I was sad it was cancelled.

Now my real challenge is not to pick some of the same books for certain prompts 🤣 Working on it…

Haha I kind of hated myself for these prompts when I was filling them in myself.

I like this tag. My husband likes The 100 and keeps raving about it. Haven’t seen any of the
TV shows but thanks for linking them to some great books.

Thanks for the tag! 😊
I have watched Stargate SG-1, Star Trek, Defiance, Fallen Skies (which I still need to finish), Fringe, and Battlestar Galactica (both the old and the new, and the prequel series -which I was super mad that they cancelled). 🚀

You are welcome 😉
We still need to finish Defiance. I still want to watch the prequel Caprica but when it got cancelled I kind of lost motivation at the time.
