Book Haul

Book Haul #45 – Hello Ebooks

Surprisingly I got a lot of books and a majority of them are ebooks. Yes you did read that right. I managed to snag quite a bit of review copies and then bought a few. I have gotten quite a bit less phsyical copies this time around and only because of a library sale at that.

Reading Challenge(64)

The Gauntlet (The Gauntlet 1) by Karuna Riazi
I got offered a review copy of the sequel and since I had been meaning to jump aboard this middle grade series I ended up ordering the paperback of the first book.

Igraine the Brave by Cornelia Funke
De Legende van de Vuurvogel by Femke Dekker
The Empress (Diabolic 2) by S.J. Kincaid
There was a library summer sale and I got these for 50 cents each. It is why I got The Empress. I can give it a shot for 50 cents.

Jade War (Green Bone Saga 2) by Fonda Lee
So my physical copy arrived but as you can see down below I also got an e-arc. Lucky me.

Moon Cakes was heel leuk.

  2. Look at all those beautiful books. *.* I love finding “Read Now” books on NetGalley. 🙂 Well, I buy e-books because they cost a lot less (I’m all for books at 0,99 cents) and because I have no space on my bookshelf for new physical books.

    Happy readings! 😉

    1. Ah read nows are great. I love when there is an offer of 24h for a book you’ve been wanting to read and you can snatch it up. Ebooks here don’t always cost less, Maybe a euro here or there. But the difference isn’t that big.

  3. Oooo… I have never heard of that Cornelia Funke book! 🙌🙌🙌

I was hoping to get approved for Dead Voices, but no such luck. 😕✨

I love that ebooks have grown on you. 😃

I like ebooks first and foremost because of $1.99 sales, ha ha. Then if I love it I can buy the hardcover. If I bought HCs of everything it would be a huge waste of money because so many of them would be culled to be donated. Secondly, I like that I can read in the dark in bed, and my Kindles are easier to hold comfortably in bed. I also like being able to switch to text-to-speech during meals, while riding the bus, or doing things like doing my nails. Also borrowing from Hoopla is miles easier for me than going to the library and then having to go back to return the books. 👍✨

    1. Me neither so I had to grab it.

Same to be honest. No reply whatsoever. Oh well I’ll read Small Spaces anyway. I’ve been meaning to get it.

Kindles sounds great. I still have my trusty old sony and it can do none of those things haha.

  4. I received an eARC for The Weight of a Soul too! I can’t wait to read it because it has a Viking setting.

I have this new method where I first read Amazon samples before I decide to buy a book. Now I’m much more careful about buying books! Jolien has also taken on this method. 😀

    1. Yes I am super interested!

Me and samples generally don’t get along. I often try and avoid them because I like just going into a book as blank as possible I guess. But it is great that it works great for you 😀
