It is July 7th and I am starting this first Sunday of July off with the statistics of my book shelves before heading into the actual 4 parts that show the books. Once again I made an infographic with Piktochart.
Even though I like canva for most things, piktochart just works best for the infographics. Its free too though you can now only have 5 saved graphics. Which isn’t a big deal if you don’t need a lot of infographics or editing, because you can download them to your computer and just delete them off your account when you hit that number.
I counted the books on April 19th. I know its July now and it seems really early. However since mid June Merijn doesn’t have pre-school and less grandpa days as they will go on a vacation for 4 weeks so I needed to prepare this all extremely early. Yeay for being organised.
As always manga, Merijn’s books, some old picture books and husband’s comics have not been counted to the total. The unread books again do not have the classics.

A Dance With Books 
Your graphics. *.* I’ll have to take a look at Piktochart because I’m awful at doing graphics and it seems a little easy to use. =P You have so many physical books. Since I’m out of space to put physical books, I’ve been buying a lot more e-books than I used to.

Piktochart is super easy to use and to get to fit in with your blog aesthatic!
I expect that in the future I’ll be buying more ebooks as well. There is only so much space a house has haha.

Ik vind deze blogposts altijd heel interessant. Zowel bij anderen als bij mezelf. Alleen zie ik het meestal halverwege het tellen even niet meer zitten. 🙂 Binnenkort toch maar weer eens opzoeken wanneer ik opnieuw aan de slag kan gaan. Mijn boekendatabank ik niet meer correct vermits er ondertussen weer heel wat boeken zijn weggedaan en er een aantal anderen in de plek zijn gekomen. Vorig jaar viel het me op dat het verschil tussen Engelse en Nederlandstalige boeken kleiner aan het worden was. Ik ben benieuwd hoe dat dit jaar gaat zijn.

Ja dat tellen pff. Deze tellen duurt altijd het langst. Ik ben nog bezig met shelf stats, waar ik naar nog meer statistieken ga kijken en daar gaat het tellen sneller maar dan is het ook meer gefocused op een iets haha.
Had je nog een idee voor meer statistieken trouwens voor de shelf stats? Ik doe een paar aparte posts om het dan over een paar jaar te vergelijken haha. Ik ben bezig met vrouwen vs mannen auteurs / begin letters van titels / uitgevers / poc auteurs en mc / LGBTQ+

Oh, dat is juist. Dankzij jouw stats wilde ik zelf ook eens kijken naar de verhouding tussen mannelijke en vrouwelijke auteurs in mijn verzameling. Publicatiejaar een aantal bladzijden deed je al zeker? De vorm (hardcover, paperback, softcover) vind ik ook interessant maar ik dacht dat je dat ook al deed. Je zou voor jezelf kunnen bijhouden hoeveel boeken met mappen je hebt. Daar ben ik onlangs naar op zoek gegaan voor de NEWTS. Ongelezen boeken met een map er in. Daardoor is Seraphina mee bij de prompts terechtgekomen.

Ja dat is wel interessant om naar te kijken he? Publicatiejaar doe ik eigenlijk nog niet maar dat is wel een goede. Maar dan publicatie jaar van origineel of publicatie jaar van mijn editie haha.

Dan zou ik die van het origineel nemen. Of allebei wanneer je teveel tijd hebt. 🙂 Het lijkt me op zich interessanter om te weten wanneer een verhaal is ontstaan dan wanneer het exemplaar werd gedrukt dat je bezit.
