Earlier this year I came across the fun looking tag The Bookish Adventure Tag. While it looks like a lot of fun it isn’t quite as easy as it looks. I mean imagine having to settle on just ONE place . Yeah it is super hard!
Linking this up with the month long fun Wyrd and Wonder fantasy event.
Rules
Imagine that you are an intrepid literary adventurer- braving the harsh bookish wilderness, traversing jungles of pages and slashing through vines of words. Where in the vast world of books would you go?
- Write about one place mentioned in a book you wish you could visit and why.
- List 3-5 things that you would do there.
- Mention which souvenirs, if any, you would bring back with you.
- Then tag some more literary explorers and please link back to the creator (Umairah @ Sereadipity) so I can see all of your adventures!
Let us go on an adventure to…
Ankh-Morpork! Ankh-Morpork is a fictional city (or rather a combination of two cities) from Terry Pratchett’s Discworld series. It is the largest city of Discworld and lies on the river Ankh. While this is not a place I’d like to live in, visiting would be very high on my bucket list. It is the first place I got to meet in Discworld through the eyes of Rincewind in The Colour of Magic and it certainly has some magic. Though mostly on tourists and probably not on its inhabitants.
During This Adventure I Would…
visit various places to enjoy my day.
I would love to try and get into Unseen University. This is the place where wizards get trained. Though I wouldn’t go there for the magic perse but to see the library and meet the Librarian (who is an orangutan). I’d also liked to get a glimpse of The Tower of Art that is apart of the Unseen University. Not to go inside because I’d probably die.
While there I might as well have a quick look at the Shades (as long as it is still light out) and visit Harga’s House of Ribs and maybe the Cosmetic Mill. You know, just to look.
Ankh-Morpork tends to have a lot of things going on at the streets so I think that would certainly enrich my visit. There is a lot of street theatre going on with food carts around.
I’d also love to get a glimpse of the Patrician’s Palace and some of the City Watch Men.
Fun Souvenirs I’d Buy Before Leaving
I mean I can’t think of anything now but by the time I leave there I am sure I would have a bag full of useless trinkets from the street vendors that just before I leave would get stolen by the Thieves’ Guild.
Literary Explorers I’m Tagging
La La in the Library
Jolien from the Fictional Reader
Avery from Red Rocket Panda
I like this tag. I’ll consider myself tagged too.

Ha ha, yes! I love it. Where did you get the map? š¢
I was just chatting with someone on IG about needing to do a re-read of The Color of Magic. š
Thanks for the tag. I think I will probably be going to Diagon Alley. š

Its sold as a book. Its this one: https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/64224.The_Discworld_Mapp?ac=1&from_search=true
It has a bit of information and then at the end you can unfold the map.
