Last year Imyril from There’s Always Room for One More, Lisa from Dear Geek Place and Jorie from Jorie Loves a Story created Wyrd and Wonder. It is a month long event that focuses on all things fantasy. You can create your own posts surrounding fantasy, blog hop or just read fantasy all month long. It was a lot of fun to participate last year so when it got announced they were bringing it back for another year I was right on board. You can still sign up at the link.
Upcoming This Month
For Wyrd and Wonder I have a few posts prepared. Now I am obviously mostly fantasy based anyway so some I had already written and fitted in very nicely with this month. Others were written entirely with the month in mind. More reviews might be added to my blog schedule as I go along.

Readalong
For this month our hosts are hosting two readalongs. One is for Trial of Lightning and the other is for The Ninth Rain. I do want to read Trial of Lightning but I don’t own the book. I do however own The Ninth Rain and I am 100% on board for the readalong for that one. That readalong starts on May 9th.
TBR
The Iron Ghost (Copper Cat 2) by Jen Williams / Reread
The Silver Tide (Copper Cat 3) by Jen Williams
The Ninth Rain (The Winnowing Flame 1) by Jen Williams
Fool’s Fate (Tawny Man 3) by Robin Hobb
The Way of Kings (Stormlight Archive 1) by Brandon Sanderson
The Ship of Smoke and Steel (The Wells of Sorcery 1) by Django Wexler
The Final Days of Magic (Witches of New Orleans 3) by J.D. Horn
The Jen Williams books are my priority for the month but if i can I’d like to finish Tawny Man trilogy and start Stormlight Archive or The Ship of Smoke and Steel. Initially I had The Copper Promise also but I already reread that st the end of April. I had no chill haha.
Looks like you have a lot of good books on hand for this month. I’ll look forward to hearing more about them!

LET’S HEAR IT FOR JEN WILLIAMS 😀 I just started my reread of The Ninth Rain and oh my dear sweet bat goddess I wasn’t expecting it to hit me this hard. Take it from me: if you enjoy it the first time around, it’s worth coming back for a second read.

I’m also hoping to read Ship of Smoke and Steel this month! Looking forward to it! Good luck with Way of Kings! It’s a bit slow in places, but the payoff is absolutely worth it. 🙂

Me too.
I hope I’ll like it. I’ve had mostly misses with Sanderson so far but this is the book of his that is most up my alley.

You’re reading Robin Hobb!! 😀
The second Tawney Man book was my favorite. I just love the Fool as Lord Golden and how he and Fitz interact.

Of course 😀 I really liked the first Tawney Man Book. Hit me in all my feels ._.

It did for me too!! Especially since I’d just completed the Liveship Traders books when I read it and was messing Fitz’s voice.

I figured they were going to come back with this, this May so I took that into account when working on my blog planning. 😀

Hallo, Hallo Annemieke,
I was coming through the other day but for whichever reason, I was having trouble seeing your post – I decided to hold off and return again this weekend! 🙂 You are such a lovely cheerleader for our #WyrdAndWonder event! It never fails me how on top of things you are and you always have a cheerfulness about you – love the fact your joining us and I can’t wait to see what your going to be sharing! I, admit, when you said “Copper Cat Trilogy” I was instantly curious!! lol
Robin Hobb is one author I have been tempted to read but never have… I love the density of her books (at least by the look of them!) and clearly wonder why I never tried the books themselves!? Hmm… if you blog about that one, I’ll be all ears!
Loving the angle of your bookphoto, too! Really pops out well!
OOH dear, I followed your links to the Copper series and I think it is more Dark than I thought it might go — I’ll leave that one to you! 🙂 I enjoy a few exploits into Dark Fantasy but only in limited quantity and it has be a certain style of narrative or I just lose interest!
Happy Wyrd And Wonder and here’s to a rockin’ lovely month!

Aw thank you so much. ❤
They are great and the realm of elderlings is chopped up in various trilogies so pretty bite sized (3 always sounds better than 15 haha.
I've personally never seen the copper cat books as dark fantasy. Maybe that is because the main trio just works so well together or maybe because there is a certain lightheartedness to one of our main characters. If you do want to take the plunge, they are well worth it.
