Book Haul

Book Haul #42 / In Which Spring Arrived with Sequels

Here we are again with a book haul. Only the second one of 2019. So far I think I’ve been doing decent in terms of buying books. A lot of them were gifts. And one cannot say no to those. As for the ratio of hauled books read I think that is rather decent too. I’ve read a few and a lot of the others are on my tbr for the next few months.

Reading Challenge(64)

Beyond a Darkened Shore by Jessica Leake
I won this book from The Reading Hobbit’s Giveaway at the end of February and it has a book plate too! ❤

Slayer (Slayer 1) by Kiersten White = READ
Husband was going to keep this wrapped up until our wedding anniversary but when I got really sick for a week he gave it to me on World Book Day ❤

The True Queen (Sorcerer Royal 2) by Zen Cho = READ
My pre order came in ❤

Wundersmith: The Calling of Morrigan Crow (Nevermoor 2) by Jessica Townsend = READ
I got this from a friend as a very late birthday present ❤ After having read Nevermoor I just needed it.

Lud-in-de-Mist by Hope Mirrlees
You know I’d never heard of this classic fantasy until I saw the new Dutch release two years ago I think. I’ve had my eye on it for a while but never bought it. When I saw it for less than 50% of the price at book fest I had to grab it.

Clariel (Abhorsen 4) by Garth Nix
Goldenhand (Abhorsen 5) by Garth Nix
I own the first 3 in Dutch, and again when I saw them cheapish at book fest I could not leave them. Clearly I am not a 100% ready to read this series lol. And look Clariel has a dragon on the cover so clearly this is for me haha.

March Acquired: 7
April Acquired:  6

Lethal White (Comoran Strike 4) by Robert Gailbraith
Okay I caved. I was waiting forever for my reservation of the library to come in and when my mom asked me if I wanted it, how could I say no?

The Ship of Smoke and Steel (The Wells of Sorcery 1) by Django Wexler
Artificial Condition (Murderbot Diaries 2) by Martha Wells = READ
Hello my beauties. I ordered this through my parents account from a website where they’ve had a subscription for many many years. It requires them to spend something on books every quarter or so. And guess who gets to order books…

Night Shift by Debi Gliori = READ
Mid April I got a surprise package from La La in the Library with this gorgeous illustrated booklet about depression. Thank you so much again!

Grey Sister (Book of the Ancestor 2) by Mark Lawrence
I read Red Sister at the start of April and really liked it. As I was ordering something for my husband as our wedding anniversary gift I accidentally came across this for 8 Euro (Okay so we all know it wasn’t an accident but shhh.)

Soulbinder (Spellslinger 4) by Sebastien de Castell
I have a problem but it has so pretty spray painted edges… Someone kick my ass into reading this series please and thank you.

2019 march april ebook haul

Moonlocket (The Cogheart Adventures 2) by Peter Bunzl
I was happy to see book 2 on Netgalley. Can’t wait to see where this goes next!
The Outside by Ada Hoffmann = READ
This has an autistic mc and that was an immediate sell for me.
The Fever King (Feverwake 1) by Victoria Lee = READ
I’ve heard nothing but great things about this book so when it went up on UK netgalley I had to try my chances.
Shadow Frost by Coco Ma
I came across this on NG and the cover sold me immediately. The synopsis sounds good too!
Slave Warrior Queen (Of Crowns and Glory 1) by Morgan Rice
Rogue Prisoner Princess (Of Crowns and Glory 2) by Morgan Rice
These were free on kindle and seem like good reads to read during the Summer for when I am outside with merijn and need to be able to put down a read within a second.
Little Witches: Magic in Concord by Leigh Dragoon = READ
A middle grade graphic novel little women retelling seems like a lot of fun.
Dragonslayer by Duncan M. Hamilton
A last minute approvement on Netgalley. I mean, this title and with a dragon on the cover, of course I was going to request this!

  1. What a fantastic book haul! The cover of Beyond a Darkened Shore is gorgeous. How sweet of your husband to let you unwrap Slayer early because you were ill. :’) Did you enjoy it? And ohmigosh, I neeed to get a copy of Feverwake at some point, the hype was real with that one!!

  2. Zoveel leuke nieuwe aanwinsten. We hebben wel allebei een lieve echtgenoot hé. Die van mij nam bloemen mee naar huis toen ik ziek was en jouw man zorgde voor wat troost met een boek op World Book Day.
