⌘ So the first week of March was not too great. Both Merijn and I got sick on the second day of  the month. Merijn had the flu I think and I had laryngitis (voice gone too of course). Merijn got better after 3 days, I did not. For most of my being sick I only slept 2-3 hours. And then once the laryngitis got better I got an awful ear pain in my left ear throughout the night, couldn’t hear well out of that ear for a while and also ended up with my period. So yeah, no fun here at the start of the month.

⌘ The week after that I finished the group course therapy. Of course I learned new insights but it is going to take a while before a lot of those are going to take effect. So we’ll see.

⌘ The weekend of March 16th Merijn stayed at his grandparents (dad side) because we went bowling and out to dinner with husband’s sister, brother and girlfriend.  He stayed there from friday to sunday. Bowling and the dinner was a lot of fun. The dinner was at an all you can eat buffet restaurant and they had so much. I was not hungry on Sunday morning.  On the sunday we had two birthdays to go to. One of my friend and one of my bil’s girlfriend. There we picked up Merijn as well who was sick. Poor thing. Again.

⌘ I was then the lucky sod that got the wooden truck against my head from Merijn which left me with a small concussion. Yeay. So I haven’t been able to read or probably blog since March 22nd. #sadface

⌘ But at least todays husband’s birthday and I hope I feel good enough to people.

⌘ Up until the concussion I was very into playing Merge Dragons on my phone. Are you playing it? Let me know so we can friend!

Reading Challenge(7)

⌘ TBR: As you could read in Doing My O.W.L.’s for Healing Purposes // O.W.L.S. 2019 I am going to participate in this readathon throughout April. So that is going to be my tbr. Other than that I am going to leave it open. I have some reservations still outstanding at the library and maybe some other review copies so I think this is more than enough. And honestly, after the whole concussion thing, I don’t know if I can even hit those 8 books. I read for an hour on Friday and my head hurt.

⌘ I am also participating in Anderwereld’s (Dutch online second-hand books webstore) April Photo Challenge.

  1. Oh I remember reading the Tawny Man series. I miss those books. Bummer about Fablehaven. I was thinking of reading those. Maybe not. Haha

    Yikes sorry about the concussion!

Merge dragons looks awesome, love that game art!

  2. Oh gosh, having toddlers is dangerous!!I hope your head will be better soon..

I still haven’t checked out the adaptation of ‘The Passage’. It’s on the list though. I’m a bit scared cause I didn’t like most of the actors.. We’ll see – I will give them a chance to convince me 😉

  3. I’m so sorry about how you month started. Hope you’re feeling better from the concussion. That must have been scary. I’ve seen Merge Dragons on some promotion videos in a game I play and I quite love the settings and the colours. I may give it a chance. 🙂 I haven’t decided yet if I’ll be joining OWLS 2019. I really want to, but I have been such a slow reader that I fear I’d not be able to finish my goals.

    Wishing you a happy April!

  4. Sorry about the sickness! We’ve been dealing with our own this past week. My voice hasn’t sounded right for days. I’m either raspy, or croaky like a frog. We love, love, love the Nevermoor books! It’s one of our favorites. I adore Jupiter and Jack, Morrigan and Hawthorne! Fen! She’s made a few friends now, but I love Cadence the most. Hope you start feeling better!

  5. I’m sorry your month didn’t start off well with all the sickness. And oh goodness, a concussion too!! I hope you and your son are both doing better. I hope you were able to enjoy your husband’s birthday. 🙂 Yay for loving Nevermoor. I really need to read that one!

      1. Haha I don’t think I’ve figured out everything yet cause I’m not sure what my code is or how to connect with other players. Do you know where I can find it? My camp number is #3550, but I don’t think that’s what you mean right?

Je hebt The Beauty and the Beast precies evenveel sterren gegeven als ik. Eigenlijk moet ik er nog steeds een recensie van schrijven maar ik ben er nog steeds niet aan toegekomen. Het viel me wel op dat ik zonder probleem meerdere hervertellingen kan opsommen die ik leuker vond dan het origineel.

  9. Concussions are so awful! I hope your April is going better health-wise. The True Queen sounds fun to read and is on my reading wish list.

  10. March was super sucky for you healthwise! I hope April is better, it should be because spring brings fresh air inside. Parents should get hazard pay. Baz broke his father’s big toe once trying to pick up a heavy cinder block and then dropping it, and he gave me a black eye once. We need goalie masks and steel toed shoes. 😱

Sebastian adored the Rugrats (I did, too, ha ha). He still wears a Reptar t-shirt. 😁

I have to start looking at the O.W.L.’s books. I think one of mine for wandmaking was an adult book, so The Passage counts for that. 🦉

Here’s to a much better and healthier April! 🌷

  11. You had a rough month! I hope April is much better for you.Kids are dangerous. Mine have definitely hurt me before thankfully, we haven’t had a concussion yet but my oldest did accidentally head butt my mom’s knee and she had to be on crutches.
