We are already at the point of Spring. With that comes the seasonal tbr prompt from top ten tuesday, as always hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl. One can always count on that. I’ll be noting which goal some of these fit into for myself.
Before we head into my Spring TBR however I would like to look back on how I did with my Winter TBR. Out of 10 books I so far have read 7 books. I’ve done a lot worse than that in the past so go me~
The Way of Kings by Brandon Sanderson
15 TBR in 2019
This really has to be the year I read this
Ancillary Justice by An Leckie
15 TBR in 2019 / Fantasy and Sci-Fi Reading Challenge
I’ve only heard great things and since I can get it from the library easy, why not?
Under the Pendulum Sun by Jeannette NG
15 TBR in 2019 / Year of the Asian Reading Challenge
I got this 2 years ago for my birthday but it remains untouched upon my shelf. Time to remedy that.
Final Days of Magic by J.D. Horn
ARC / 10 Series to Finish
I have an arc so I can finish this trilogy. Not my favorite but still somewhat fun.
The Copper Cat trilogy by Jen Williams
15 TBR in 2019 / 10 Series to Finish
Here I’ll be rereading the first two and finally picking up the last one, The Silver Tide. I own my own physical copies now.
The Awakening by Amanda Stevens
15 TBR in 2019 / 10 Series to Finish
I finally got this final installment last year and then never read it. That seems to be the theme of this tbr.
City of Brass by S.A. Chakraborty
15 TBR in 2019
I’ve heard such great things. I really just need to start.
A Thousand Beginnings and Endings.
Edited by Ellen Oh and Elsie Chapman
Year of the Asian Reading Challenge
There has been so much buzz that I need to finally pick it up.
Good Omens by Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman
15 TBR in 2019
I read half of this a few years ago but this was around Merijn being a month old and having had a c-section and getting the start of my post partum depression, it just wasn’t the right time. I’m going to just start from the beginning again.
And I Darken by Kiersten White
5 Series to Read From Start to Finish
I bought it right after having read her Frankenstein retelling but then never picked this one up.
An extra question to you all. Every year I do a book shelf tour and this year I’d like to start that off with any questions you might have regarding my shelves and the books I own. Please fill in any questions here. You can totally leave it as a anonymous question.
YES to City of Brass and The Way of Kings! Honestly, TWOK seems very intimidating because it’s so long but I never really felt like it took me ages while reading. Brandon Sanderson’s writing always makes time seem to go by so fast.
Happy reading, Annemieke!

That sounds like how I feel about the Robin Hobb books. Once I start those I fly right on through in a few days.

I loved so many of these. Fingers crossed they’re a hit for you as well! And hmm…shelf question: any books that you bought because of the covers, without knowing ANYTHING about the book itself?

Yes I hope so too!
Oh good question. I’m adding it!

Great list! The City of Brass is one I’d really like to cross off my TBR this year and I’d like to check And I Darken and Under the Pendulum Sun out, too. Hope you enjoy all of these!

Under the Pendulum Sun! I’m not sure I can say that I liked it but it certainly was very unique read, something I will never forget. It’s definitely the creepiest fae book I’ve ever read. And I hope you like Ancillay Justice! It was one of my favorite books of last year.
I also hope to get to A Thousand Beginnings and Endings this spring, it sounds wonderful.
Great list!

I hope you get to read all of these this spring. I have had my eye on And I Darken for a while now. Maybe I need to add that one to my spring TBR. Happy reading!

Wow, that’s a lot of great books you have on your TBR. The only one I’ve read, and loved, was CITY OF BRASS. It was excellent, and I can highly recommend reading that series! 😀

Love this list! I am planning on picking up a couple of Brandon Sanderson books this summer. Hopefully we’ll both enjoy them 🙂
City of Brass sounds so cool and I need to get a copy SOON!

Fingers crossed. Sanderson has been mediocre so far for me but The Way of Kings does sound like it is way more up my alley. I hope you’ll enjoy him more overal than I have.
Both covers of City of Brass are so pretty!

WHOA. You have green grass already?! I’m jealous. We have … mud.
You know what? I really need to read The Way of Kings this year, too. I’m afraid if I keep putting that and Mistborn off too much longer, hubby will just kill me in my sleep because he’s tired of trying to convince me to pick it up. xD
Good Omens and And I Darken are also on my list hopefully for this year. Hopefully. If you get to them first, I’ll look forward to seeing what you think. 😛

We had weird snow and then a weird very warm spring like day in February (which is when I took this pic) It was weird. And then we went back to rain all the time. But we didn’t have as much snow so the grass didn’t suffer too much.
Haha. That is quite the motivation. 😉
Lets see who wins. 😉

I don’t think we actually got snow here this year. o.0 None that actually stuck, anyway. We had snow for all of, like, six hours one day …
There’s actually a group buddy read thing for Good Omens in a group I just joined on Goodreads, so I might read it then, with everyone else. Nothing like peer pressure to motivate you, right? xD

Great job on your Winter TBR! I picked up And I Darken when it was on sale last year and I still need to read it. Hope you like these books.

I’ve seen some mixed reviews (like 3 star kind of reviews) but nothing below that which is a good thing.

I got a copy of City of Brass recently, so that one could have made my list too. It sounds really good. I have a feeling I’ll probably want to read Good Omens as well if I end up starting the new series. I don’t think I’ve read any Terry Pratchett so far, so that’s something to look forward to.
Hope you enjoy all your books 🙂

LikeLiked by 1 person
