One of the things I love about reading is being able to sink into a book and losing myself in the story and the world. Especially with some fantasy worlds I can’t help but wonder what it would be like to live there. And sometimes I wonder what it would be like to be the character. Luckily a lot of authors can let us sink into a character so we sort of live the adventure through the character.
For this week’s top ten tuesday (as always hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl) we are talking about characters we’d like to switch places with. Of course I made a list but I still struggled a little. As I have gotten older I have less interest in switching places with specific characters. I’d rather imagine myself in the world as myself or a form of myself. Even so I still managed to list a few.
Alice from Alice in Wonderland
I think everyone knowns Wonderland and Alice. Wonderland is so lovely whymsical. I’d love to see it with my own eyes as I fall down the rabbit hole. Would I make the same decisions?
Asha from Iskari
Look she gets to fight dragons and fly one. I need.
Lazloo from Strange the Dreamer
He gets to work in that library. I want that job.
Any demi-god at Camp Half-Blood from Percy Jackson
While they get attacked by monsters more than I can count the camp experience and seeing the super cool Annabeth would make all up for it. Maybe…
Any Ravenclaw Student at Hogwarts
Come on, you knew that was coming. I need to know how the Ravenclaw common room really looks like and I need to experience being a ravenclaw.
Tiffany Aching from the Tiffany Aching Discworld Arc
The things that Tiffany experiences in Discworld are some of the most fun things. And the way magic is seen is just something I would like to experience for myself.
Ravenclaw sounds pretty good, and Camp Half Blood too. 🙂 I’m not sure if I’m Ravernclaw or Hufflepuff, I tend to get both results depending, so… whatever lol but the Ravenclaw common room sounds good.

Then you should totally go for both. If you can switch once, you can switch twice. 😉

I picked Alice as well!!!

Not sure where I would like to switch places with any of this. I did something similar awhile back, so therefore I took another prompt. And yes, I agree with Asha after some thinking haha

Right? Asha has such a cool life (well AFTER what went down with her father anyway haha)

I’d want to swap places with Alice as well. I don’t know if I’d want to deal with the creepiness that is the Cheshire Cat but just to be in the whimsical world of Wonderland would be such an amazing experience. And as a Ravenclaw, I’d also love to swap places with any of those students just to discover that common room.

I like the Cheshire cat too much to miss out on him but I get what you mean.
And yes I need to know that common room!

While I say that, I also like him a lot. He’s interesting.

Great list! Lazlo is a really good choice, being raised in a huge library would be so much fun. I’d love to explore Wonderland for the day, too, as long as there was a guarantee I could come back!

I’m with you on not wanting to switch places with characters, and more about living in the world. I also struggled to put my list together. But you picked some great characters! I never considered Alice. I don’t know if I’m brave enough to willingly go into Wonderland, however…
Today, I’d love to switch places with Elizabeth Bennet from Pride and Prejudice. I’m feeling awfully romantic. 🙂

I mean as long as i come back out of Wonderland I think I’ll be okay haha.
Aaaw Elizabeth is awfully great.

I’d love to swap places with anyone at Camp Half-Blood too, just to get to go!

I completely understand that. I had to do some digging just to get to these few.

Definitely any Slytherin student… Or most of them at least.

These are great choices. I’d love to see a fantasy world (as long as I didn’t die in the process of seeing it).

I like your choices! Any person working in a library or book store would be great 🙂 As long as it’s a calm & relaxed library haha
Also, a Ravenclaw would be fun! You stay away from all the Gryffindor/Slytherin drama for most of the time & can enjoy being a Hogwarts student.

Yes either of them would be great. 😀
Haha true. You could just watch the drama unfold and roll your eyes.

Yes to both a demi-god at Camp Half Blood (what about their Roman counterpart?), and a Ravenclaw! They were so neglected in the Harry Potter books, even though the Ravenclaw crown was essential to the story! Love your list!

Their Roman counterpart would be cool too but I am more inclined towards camp halfblood.
