Thursday it is Valentine’s Day! This of course means that for this top ten tuesday (as always, hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl) we are talking about something romantic. Now you all know that romance is not my favorite element in a book. However I can appreciate it when it is done well.
So that means for today I am listing some of my favorite couples! Now there might be some considered spoilers here just be mentioning some of the couples for Snow Like Ashes and the Dark Gifts trilogy at least. Be aware of that when you scroll down below.
Meg & Simon (The Others by Anne Bishop)
Of course I have to start off with the biggest slowburn I’ve read in recent years. There is something so beautiful about seeing their relationship blossom throughout the series.
Malta & Reyn (Liveship Traders by Robin Hobb)
While Reyn might have been sold on Malta right away, Malta certainly didn’t feel like that. It took a lot of maturing and growing up before she was anywhere near ready to be in any kind of relationship with him.
Eve & Roarke (In Death by J.D. Robb)
While they get together in the first book it certainly takes a while for Eve to truly warm up to Roark and let him in.
Silyen & Lucas (Dark Gifts by Vic James)
I saw this coming from the first book but it took until the third book for something to actually happen. There was so much that needed to be dealt with first for both of them. Especially Silyen deserves all the best he can get.
Not Made to Be Real / Grump
Hermoine & Krum (Harry Potter by J.K. Rowling)
I will die with this ship. No Ron isn’t right for her. Neither is Harry. Krum would kiss the earth she walks on. You cannot change my mind.
Meira & Theron (Snow Likes Ashes by Sara Raasch)
I shall weep forever about how Theron was treated. He is so much better than whats his name…
Other Great Couples
Monty & Percy (The Gentleman’s Guide to Vice and Virtue by Mackenzie Lee)
These two are the cutest. They deserve the world.
Colton & Danny (Timekeeper by Tara Sim)
These cute boys. So much love for them.
Rhy & Alucard (Shades of Magic by V.E. Schwab)
Snappy dialogue and vulnerable men.
Howl & Sophie (Howl’s Moving Castle by Diana Wynne Jones)
And of course I have to finish with one of my favorite couples of all time. Sophie I don’t know how you deal with Howl some days haha.
