So this haul happened. I didn’t mean for it to happen but I could not pass up the library sale and then I had a quick trip to the charity shop and I got gifts and I have no self-control. But if you follow this blog for a while you already knew that haha.
★ The Bitter Twins (The Winnowing Flame 2) by Jen Williams
★ Down Among the Stick and Bones (Wayward Children 2) by Seanan McGuire
★ Beneath the Sugar Sky (Wayward Children 3) by Seanan McGuire
★ Fantastic Beasts 2: the Screenplay by J.K. Rowling = READ
My parents were like, you can order for 50 euro books. So here we are. After reading In an Absent Dream I realized I really need to read the other two as well so here we are.
★ The Rise and Fall of D.O.D.O. by Neal Stephenson and Nicole Galland
I’ve had my eye on this book ever since Maraia mentioned it first and now I have it. ❤
★ Stealing Snow (Stealing Snow 1) by Danielle Paige
★ The Emperor’s Blades (Chronicle of the Unhewn Throne 1) by Brian Stavely
★ The Republic of Thieves (Gentleman Bastard 3) by Scott Lynch = READ
So this is my charity shop haul. I saw the hardcover of The Republic of Thieves and made a wild grab for it. I would love to have the whole series in hardcover with these covers some day instead of my mix matched paperbacks haha. The Emperor’s Blades is actually a Tor ARC. I was unsure if this was allowed but La La in the Library assured me that American publishers don’t mind arcs being sold in charity shops so I got it. Couldn’t help it. And Stealing Snow was not even 2 euro so I figured that was a good enough price to try it despite not hearing great things.
★ The Cuckoo’s Calling (Comoran Strike 1) by Robert Galbraith/J.K. Rowling = READ
★ The Emerald Storm (The Riyria Revelations 4) by Michael J. Sullivan
★ Ottoline at Sea (Ottoline 3) by Chris Riddell
And off I went to the library sale. I’m sorry for the bad photo. It were a terrible few rainy and dark days at the time. I read The Cuckoo’s Calling from the library, the whole Comoran Strike series so far, and saw this for 1 euro. I can see myself rereading these in the future so I got it.
I am so confused as to the Riyria books. So I have an ebook of Dulgath but that is another Riyra series? Oh well. I should be able to find the other books in the library as well if I want to start reading it. I’ll have to look up the reading order. And then I saw this cute little book by Chris Riddell and grabbed it.
★ The Battle for Skandia (Ranger’s Apprentice 4) by John Flanagan
★ George’s Marvelous Medicine by Roald Dahl
Then I found these two at the library sale, books for Merijn in the future that I will also read at some point.
★ Every Heart a Doorway (Wayward Children 1) by Seanan McGuire = READ
★ A Game of Thrones (A Song of Ice and Fire 1) by George R.R. Martin = READ
★ Harry Potter: A Pop-Up Guide to Hogwarts by Kevin Wilson and Matthew Reinhart
And finally, for the physical books anyway, I got these books from husband for christmas. I actually asked him for no books and a seat for on the back of my bike for Merijn but he said that wasn’t a christmas present and to present my wishlist. I did not expect to get the pop up guide. *.* The Game of Thrones illustrated edition was only 10,50 euro. And I still needed Every Heart a Doorway.
★ The Final Days of Magic (Witches of New Orleans 3) by J.D. Horn
Release Date: June 18th 2019
This year I read books 1 and 2 from this series so I was quite pleased to see it pop up on NG already. I don’t love this series but I am very interested to see how it all is going to end.
★ Shadow of the Fox (Shadow of the Fox 1) by Julie Kagawa
This is already out but it was a read now on Netgalley UK and I couldn’t quite pass that up.
★ New Moon (Luna 1) by Ian McDonald
And this was the TOR freebie of the month. Sci-fi so I grabbed it. Seems like a great read for my reading challenge next year.
★ The Winter of the Witch (Winternight 3) by Katherine Arden
Release Date: January 9th 2019
I’m so happy I got an ARC for this halfway through the month. Now to read book 2 and read book 3 right after. ❤ *.* Thanks so much Penguin RH International.
★ The Armored Saint (The Sacred Throne 1) by Myke Cole
Tor send out a christmas thank you freebie for following the newsletter and that was this. Very interested. \
★ Desolation (The Keystone Bone 1) by Jesper Schmidt
★ Born of Water (The Rise of the Fifth Order 1) by Autumn M. Birt
I entered their giveaway and though I didn’t win anything they offered up their first book to all those who entered. Though I think they are free regardless.
★ The Unicorn Anthology. Edited by Peter S. Beagle and Jacob Weisman
Release Date: April 19th 2019
I saw this on netgalley and had to give it a chance.

Shadow of the Fox was one of my favorite reads this year! I hope you enjoy it! I recently read The Bear and the Nightingale, and I’m looking forward to reading the rest of the series. Nice haul!

I gotta continue with the Wayward Children series as well. Very much enjoyed part 1 and 2 is on my wishlist. I listend to the audiobook so I think I’ll stick with them.
Curious about how you like ‘The Emperor’s Blades’. Lots of people like it, but I was disappointed.
WINTER OF THE WITCH AAAAAAAAH!

Yay for Winter of the Witch! I’m starting it as soon as I finish White Stag. 🙄
Too funny, I bought an Ottoline book in my last Book Outlet haul! ha ha. I have Ottoline Goes to School. When I saw another book he illustrated on Pages Unbound I put two and two together that he was also the illustrator of the UK Tales of Beedle the Bard, AND the illustrator of MG books Sebastian loved, The Edge Chronicles, which I also want to collect now but I have to wait until I find the ones we already have. I also bought a book in the Barnaby Grimes series he illustrates for The Edge Chronical’s author in that BO haul. 📚✨
The HP pop-up book! 😍😍😍😍😍😍😍

He does the prettiest illustrations. I love them. I also has done some illustrations for Neil Gaiman and of his illustrated novels the sleeper and the spindle and odd and the frost giants.
