Quick notification: As I haven’t been doing that grand I was not able to keep up with my own schedule for the Bartimaeus readalong. Because of that I am pushing back the spoiler discussion to next Saturday. Hopefully I can keep the rest to the same date.
Since it has been a while, and it is my birthday week after all, I figured that now was the right time to do another tag. And what better way to end my birthday week than by drooling over some great covers. Because just doing it on bookstagram is just not enough.
This tag is the Dreamy Book Covers Tag. It was created by Tiana @ The Book Raven. I wasn’t tagged but this just looked like so much fun. As per usual I’ll be focusing on the books, or in this case covers, that I have on my shelves when possible.
“No Ideas But in Things”
A book cover that perfectly expresses the novel inside it
I think the cover just captures so well the feeling of the book inside. The atmosphere, the creepiness but also the feeling in the lines not being super sharp.
“Dark and Lovely” A book cover that is so creepalicious you just want to eat it up
I mean, doesn’t it just want to eat you up? *cough* I mean don’t you want to eat it up?
“Sugary Sweet”
A cute cover that is so fluffy you want to give it a hug
How cute is this Matilda cover?
“The Simple Aesthetic” A book cover that stuns with the most minimalistic of design
Such a nice and simple cover for such a fantasy classic. Still eye grabbing too.
“Cover Envy”
A book cover you wish you had on your shelves, but don’t yet
This cover is just so gorgeous and I can’t wait to see what it looks like in real life. It is also hella expensive and my wallet cannot do it.
“Traveling Abroad”
A beautiful book cover featuring a country outside of your own
So I don’t think I have a cover with a country on it but here is the earth. That counts, right?
“The Color Wheel” A cover that showcases one of your favorite colors
Yellow!
“Switching Gears”
A cover change you absolutely adore
So adore is a bit of a stretch here because I really liked the original cover, but this one has just grown on me so much and I love the eyes.
“Oldie but Goodie”
A favorite cover of your favorite classic
I don’t own this cover of Pride and Prejudice (and calling it my favorite classic is a stretch) but I am forever in love with it.
“And the Winner is…”
Which book cover mentioned above is your favorite?
If I had to choose, right in this moment, I’d say Shutter. With Halloween coming up that one is just drawing me in so much.
Tagging
Destiny from Howling Libraries
La La in the Library
Manon from Cafe Manon
I’ve never seen that Pride and Prejudice cover before. It gives off a surreal feeling that I really like.

Right? I have a Dickenson book in that edition. These watercolor ones are just so pretty.

What’s the name of the editions? I can’t seem to find them.

The classic lines from Splinter. I think you can also find them by searching watercolor classics. 🙂

It is from splinter’s watercolor classic lines. I have a Dickenson book in this same style.

Shutter for sure!! I love it! I watched a movie called ‘Shutter’ before, I wonder whether that was it? It was nice & creepy if I remember correctly.
Love the Matilda cover as well 🙂

I don’t think Shutter has been turned in a movie. Unless it had the van hellsings in it? 😉
Yes I love that cover too!

I love that LotR cover! I need to buy the trilogy and that cover style is speaking to me. 👍✨
I love those Puffin Classics covers, as you well know, ha ha. They made a blue Alice in Wonderland, so I am going to start looking for it on Book Outlet and BWB. I wonder if a lot of people requested an alternative to the pink? 😛
That Akata Witch is stunning! 😍

It is pretty, right? But it is a big one. It is the whole bind-up of the trilogy haha.
I saw that blue one. So pretty. I can imagine that b&n pink was a bit much haha.
