Now that we are nearing the end of April I thought it would be fun to do a tag that is Spring related. I was not tagged as is often the case, but I had seen this last year and I knew that I wanted to give this a go. Go me for remembering it!

FLOWERS.
Look on your shelves. What is the most beautiful book both inside and out?
Look I have a lot of those but right now I am saying Sorcerer to the Crown by Zen Cho.
GRASS.
What is a book that you find others like way more than you do?
Red Rising. The Martian.
RAIN.
What’s a great book that lifts your spirits when you’re down?
Not a specific book but books with humor and great friendships really help to lift my spirits and to make me smile. Also young adult tends to help a lot with that as I am more likely to read those in one sitting.
DEW.
What book made you feel alive?
I have no idea, honestly? I think books with humor, that can make me laugh out loud or that can make me figuratively sit on the edge of my seat, not stopping to pee (which is getting harder as I am getting older).
STORMS.
What book did you find unpredictable?
If I have to say one now I think the Gentleman Bastard books. They always surprise me with the heists they manage to set up and on occasion manage to pull off. There is always a twist or a turn somewhere that amazes me. They are so well put together.
RAINBOW.
What was a book that you struggled with only to be happy that you read it in the end?
I ended up loving Tess of the Road but not until after I adjusted my expectations that it wasn’t going to be like Seraphina. As soon as I did that and after I put it down for a few days after having read 3 chapters, I was able to see the book on its own for what it was and I fell in love with it.
CHILLY WEATHER.
What’s a book that you couldn’t finish or didn’t enjoy?
One of the last books I struggled with was Half Bad by Sally Green.
WARM WEATHER.
What book did you love and want more of?
I could do with a bit more of Echoes of the Ascended by Mark Gelineau and Joe King. The different novella’s already show so much potential for this world that I wish we had a full length book coming. At the moment it seems to be a bit silent surrounding this series and the authors which is a shame I think.
GREEN.
What book have you not read yet but really want to?
Not out yet but will be soon, The Burning Maze by Rick Riordan. I have it on pre order and I can’t wait for it to get here.
PINK.
What book made you feel a strong connection to the characters?
The Long Way to a Small and Angry Planet by Becky Chambers.
PURPLE.
What book makes you feel safe when you read it?
The Golem’s Eye by Jonathan Stroud. I just love settling into this world and these characters.
ORANGE.
What book do you feel is intelligently written?
All of them?
YELLOW.
What book puts a smile on your face?
Books by Jonathan Stroud or Terry Pratchett. Specifically The Golem’s Eye, and the Tiffany Aching arc of the Discworld series.

Oh, I like this tag! I will steal it, although we don’t have spring but autumn.
My parents tell me, they were having around 30 degrees these days. After 5 last week haha! Weird weather everywhere….
The ‘Gentleman Bastard’ books are a good choice for unpredictability! There were so many moments where I just thought ‘wtf just happened!’

You reminded me of the fact that Sorcerer to the Crown has been on my shelf for two years, if not longer 😅 I should really pick it up one day soon haha

I’m so excited for new Rick Riordan!! I’ve also been meaning to read Tess of the Road. I love the cover! I don’t like doing tags myself, but I love it when other people do them. 🙂

Just a few more days before it comes out now. 😀
Tess of the Road is great though very different from the Seraphina duology.

Het is inderdaad een leuke tag voor dit seizoen én eentje die ik nog niet eerder las. Dus dat is sowieso extra leuk.
