Last year I saw Wonder Woman (though I was late to the party as usual) and I wasn’t quite as in love with it as everyone else. Maybe it was my husband talking through it and saying this was like Captain America (le sigh). Or maybe it were the high expectations everyone else had planted. But my mind was not blown. Even so it was important to have a female superhero get her own movie. To be the focus.
Before all that though I was already tagged for The Wonder Woman Book Tag by the lovely Dina! Thank you so much! And recently I was also tagged by Carrie from Cat on the Bookshelf for the Wonder Woman vs Narnia book tag (combined by Dani from Perspective of a Writer).
As this combines the questions of the Wonder Woman and Narnia tag I decided to not do the Wonder Woman tag seperately anymore. It pits both fandoms against each other through these questions. You will see down below! A few questions were added to the wonder woman book tag by Dani as it had less questions than the Narnia book tag.
Rules should you choose to accept this tag…
- Credit the creators (Wonder Woman Book Tag) Amber @ Amber’s Books and More on Booktube. (The Narnia Book Tag) Clemi @ Clemi’s Bookish World.
- Thank the lovely person who tagged you!
- Answer the questions or prompts…
- Tag some people to do it! Spread the love!
Narnia vs Fantasy Island
Narnia: A Magical World You Would Like to Visit
Discworld! It would be great to get to explore that world.
Fantasy Island: A Book Setting You Want to Escape to
I’d love to escape to Hogwarts, just to be able to go to school there and escape the reality of the outside life.
Winner
Fantasy Island. The escapism of Hogwarts is just too real.
Narnia – 0 / Wonder Woman- 1
Wonder Woman vs Caspian
Wonder Woman: Your Favorite Badass Female Book Character
You expect me to be able to pick? There are so many good ones but for now I am going with Genie Lo from The Epic Crush of Genie Lo. She kicks so much ass.
Caspian: A Character with Regal Qualities
Lockwood from Lockwood & Co. He carries himself with such grace and confidence that I think are quite fitting of those with regal qualities.
Winner
Wonder Woman. As much as I love Lockwood, Genie Lo kicks some serious ass.
Narnia – 0 / Wonder Woman – 2
The Magician’s Nephew vs London
The Magician’s Nephew: A Book You Think is Underrated
There are so many, really. But for this I am going with The Midnight Dunes by Steven Kelliher. This is such a fun high fantasy adult series and I am excitedly waiting on the fourth book!
London: A Hyped Book That Let You Down
The Love Interest by Cale Dietrich.
Winner
This has to be The Magician’s Nephew. How can a book that let me down win in this round?
Narnia – 1 / Wonder Woman – 2
Lasso of Truth vs The Horse and His Boy
Lasso of Truth: A Book You Hated
The Amber Spyglass, book number three of the His Dark Materials book from Philip Pullman. Please don’t hurt me but this one… I had such a hard time getting through. I was so close to dnf-ing.
The Horse and His Boy: A Book You Picked Up Without Knowing What it Was About
Written in Red by Anne Bishop. I had honestly not looked at the synopsis and just went by the buzz from other readers. In the end that turned out to be a good decision because I ended up loving this series.
Winner
Obviously this is The Horse and His Boy.
Narnia – 2 / Wonder Woman – 2
The Last Battle vs Steve Trevor
The Last Battle: A Perfect Ending to a Series You Loved
Ptolemy’s Gate, the last book of the Bartimaeus trilogy was just amazing.
Steve Trevor: A Book That Has A Beatiful Cover and a Great Story
Winner
The Last Battle. The Bartimaeus trilogy is one of my absolute favorite series of all time.
Narnia – 3 / Wonder Woman – 2
Wonder Woman’s Shield vs The Silver Chair
Wonder Woman’s Shield: A Book So Sad You Need a Shield
The Book Thief. That ending. It killed me. ._.
The Silver Chair: A Book You Didn’t Expect to Love (as Much as You Did)
The Fifth Season by N.K. Jemisin. I had so many doubts concerning that prologue that I was so hesitant but I ended up falling in love with this book.
Winner
Difficult but I am going with The Silver Chair as The Fifth Season was a ‘recent’ read and as such is fresher in my mind and my love for it is more in the foregroud.
Narnia – 4 / Wonder Woman – 2
Eustace Scrubb vs Ares
Eustace Scrubb: A Character Who Grew On You
Han from Seven Realms by Cinda Williams Chima. There were times (and these times have not entirely gone away) that I wanted to give him a good kick up the rear end. But I have grown fond of Han as the series came to an end and wanted all the best things for him.
Ares: A Villain That is Scary But You Can’t Seem to Hate
The Darkling from The Grisha trilogy by Leigh Bardugo. Look, he is just to charming okay…
Winner
Eustace Scrubb. Look Darkling, you ARE a villain and unfortunately Han has worked himself up to a favorite male character. Sorry.
Narnia – 5 / Wonder Woman – 2
The Amazons vs The Pevensies
The Amazons: A Book You Wished Had More/Better LGBTQ+ Representation
A lot in fantasy can go towards this but I’m going with Harry Potter. Making Dumbledore gay after the series ends really doesn’t count…
The Pevensies: A Siblinghood or Friendship You’d Love to be a Part of
I would love to be a part of the Raven Boys like Blue became. There is something between the boys and their interactions that feels so real.
Winner
The Pevensies. Sorry, but while I like the Harry Potter world I am not as big a fan as others are. The Raven Cycle books on the other hand…
Narnia – 6 / Wonder Woman – 2
The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe vs Prince Caspian
The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe: A Classic That You Loved
Classics are always such hits or misses. But I am going with Pride and Prejudice as that always comes to mind first when it comes down to these kind of questions. I have a fondness for this one despite it having absolutely zero on the fantasy front. Shocking I know.
Prince Caspian: A Sequel That You Loved
The Golem’s Eye by Jonathan Stroud, the second book in the Bartimaes trilogy. I loved this and it is one of my all time favorite books of ever.
Winner
Prince Caspian. Duh
Narnia – 6 / Wonder Woman – 3
I’m just calling this a win for Wonder Woman because its not like they can still win…
The Voyage of the Dawn Treader vs The Amazons Part Two
The Voyage of the Dawn Treader: A Quest You’d Like to be a Part of
I’d like to go on a heist with Kaz Brekker. Obviously I would totally suck and he would kick me off his team in no time, but I could at least say I was there haha.
The Amazons Part Two: A Supernatural Team You’d Like to be a Part of
Difficult. I think I am joining Dani in wanting to be on the Human squad of Lakeside alongside our Terra Indigene. Because they are such a big and kick-ass team.
Winner
The Amazons Part Two. I ove my Terra Indigene just a bit more.
Narnia – 6 / Wonder Woman – 4
Mr. Tumnus vs The Bracelet of Submission
Mr. Tumnus: Your Favorite Magical Creature
Dragons! Surprising right? Always all the dragons.
The Bracelet of Submission: Your Favorite Magical Item
Is it cheating if I say a wand? I mean you can do so much with that.
Winner
Mr. Tumnus. Dragons for the win!
Narnia – 7 / Wonder Woman – 4
Overall Winner
Narnia!
After that good start of Wonder Woman they just could not recover. Too bad. I guess I am not going to be the next Wonder Woman (surprising, right?) and in turn will got to Narnia.
Justice League
What Super Hero Friends Do You Tag?
- La La in the Library
- Liesbet from Zwartraafje
- Joost from NerdyGeekyFanboy
- Linda from Linda’s Little Library
I loved the Epic Crush too Annemieke! And The Raven Boys!! But best of all the Lakeside Courtyard crew!! ❤ I'm super thrilled you kept the dueling book tags going, I think that's super fun.

I am super surprised that you liked Pride and Prejudice! I tried four or five times to read it and, nope. It’s not that I don’t like books like that because Jane Eyre and The Scarlet Letter are favorites of mine. I think it’s the writing style. ✒
Thanks for the tag. I won’t be able to pull of the primo book pics though. 😛

Haha sure you can. 😉
Could be. I’ve known the story by seeing the bbc adaption that I loved before reading the book so I think that might have helped too.

That’s is weird thing, I like the story of P&P. I have loved every movie and mini-series I have watched. 😛

En no pressure he. Wanneer het jou uitkomt. 🙂 En ja ik vond het inderdaad wel heel leuk om hem op deze manier te doen.
