top ten tuesday

TTT #133 – Books On My Spring TBR

As always, seasonal tbr lists are a reoccuring topic for Top Ten Tuesday (hosted over on That Artsy Reader Girl). I do always enjoy compiling a list but seasonal ones are so much harder to keep to I feel.

Before we do jump into my spring tbr list I would like to look at how I fared with my Winter tbr. Counting all the books listed, series books as well, there were 17 books on that list. How did I not see how overambitious that was, haha. I don’t think I even realized how many series I listed. So far I have read 7 of them and I am reading The Bear and the Nightingale withΒ  a group. So I guess that is decent. I moved some over to my Spring TBR since I do still want to read those.

  1. The Empty Grave (Lockwood & Co. 5) by Jonathan Stroud
  2. Strange the Dreamer (Strange the Dreamer 1) by Laini Taylor
  3. Neverwhere by Neil Gaiman
  4. Leah on the Off Beat by Becky Albertalli
  5. The Burning Maze (The Trialls of Apollo 3) by Rick Riordan
  6. The Obelisk Gate and The Stone Sky (The Broken Earth 2 and 3) by N.K. Jemisin
  7. Love, Hate and Other Filters by Samira Ahmed
  8. The Silver Tide (Copper Cat 3) by Jen Williams
  9. A Closed and Common Orbit (Wayfarers 2) by Becky Chambers
  10. The Hate U Give by Angie Thomas

  1. Neverwhere was the first – and so far the only – book I’ve read by Gaiman. His writing style is sooo unique, definitely took some getting used to but I’ve since bought some more of his work. Eventually I’ll get to those, haha.
Leah on the Offbeat is definitely on my wishlist! I can’t say no to an overweight bi MC, not at all.

Good luck & Happy reading! πŸ˜€

    1. It certainly is unique and in some books of his it works and in others not I’ve found. πŸ™‚ So far I’ve loved most of the books I read by him though.
      So excited for Leah~

  2. Great list! A few of these are on my TBR. Personally, I was disappointed with “Love, Hate and Other Filters”. It focused too much on romance, rather than on actual events. Hopefully, you`ll enjoy it more.

  3. I love Gaiman and Neverwhere is very good. Plus the Becky Chambers book is great – quite different in style from the first book but I really enjoyed it. Hope you enjoy

  4. STRANGE THE DREAMER AND THUG ARE SO GOOD!!! *flails wildly in the background* I also loved the first Becky Chambers book but never got to the sequel because I’m a huge slacker.πŸ˜‚ I should do that though..also that cover is super pretty right?! Galaxy covers always get me. 😍

  5. AHHH LEAH ON THE OFFBEAT!!! I can’t wait to read it and to finally watch Love, Simon. ❀ I really need to read Strange the Dreamer and The Hate U Give, too. I read Love, Hate and Other Filters recently and thought it was ~just~ an okay read. 😦 Happy reading. ❀ ❀

  6. This is such a good list of books! So many of these are ones I want to read, too. I just … don’t know when? Pretty sure I need a Time Turner or something to squeeze more out of a day, please and thanks. I’ll be interested to see what you think about The Hate U Give! I’ve heard such good things about it and had so many people recommend it, but I probably won’t get to it until the end of the year. (Also, I’ll be reading The Bear and the Nightingale soon, as well as its sequel, so yay!)

    1. Haha that sounds so familiar. We need an extra month in the year just to read. πŸ˜‰
Yeay I’m finally starting my buddy read for it on Monday. I’m hoping to pick up THUG from the library soonish.

  7. Yay for The Hate U Give! I have to read the second Chambers book, too. I am going to see if the library has the ebook because I want to buy the series in hardcover (because LOVE) for my shelves, and so Baz will read them (he hates ebooks). I didn’t know Becky Albertalli’s new book was out. *oops*

I am holding my breath waiting for what you think of The Bear and the Nightingale. 😊
