Epic Reading? Epic Tag!

Last year I was tagged for the Epic Reads tag by a blogger friend. She has since stopped blogging so I can’t link you towards her. But I certainly remembered that I still had to do this tag. So here we are.

I have to be honest and say I was expecting more epic questions.

If you could invite one author and one of their fictional characters to lunch, who would you invite and what would you serve them?

I thought about this for a while but I decided I would like to invite Intisar Khanani for a lunch. She seems like such a genuinely nice person and I have enjoyed her books so far. She is the author of the Sunbolt books. From those books I’d invite Val. He is still such a mystery really, as is his world so it would be interesting to get to know him in this setting. For as much as he would let me of course.

As for what I would serve, I think little sandwich and cake snacks like at a high tea. Lots of different options. Val can bring his own ‘snack’… Or rather, he can eat before joining us *scowls*

What book do you wish the author would write a prequel for?

I don’t often think about prequel reads but I would love a Marauders prequel OR one about the Hogwarts house creators when it comes to Harry Potter/Fantastic Beasts. There is so much left to discover and things that were hinted at.

Which two characters (not from the same book) would make a good couple?

I do not want to think about characters from different books together. Everyone can stay in their own lane please.

If you ran into your favourite author on the subway and only could say one sentence to them, who is it and what would it be?

‘I love your books.’ So profound. I don’t think I could think of anything else to say anyway, haha.

What book made you a reader and why?

There is no one book that made me a reader. I don’t think that really exists. My mom and the library shaped me into being a reader, and The Lunar Chronicles are the series that got me back into reading.

Incendio! Your bookshelf just caught fire. Show the book you’d save.

The nearest? You can’t make me pick…
I’m just going to weep in the corner now. Don’t scare me like that.

Which dystopian world would you want to live in if you had to choose one and why?

In none? They all suck. Who wants to live in a dystopian world?

I just looked through a list of dystopian books. Still nothing.

What is you most epic read of all time?

The most epic? The Epic Crush of Genie Lo?
Seriously I stared at my favorites shelf on goodreads for a while but nothing really came at me.

  1. That last question is hard! I would probably say Lord of the Rings because it’s my favorite? But if we’re talking LITERAL epics, probably the Odyssey?!

    Anyways, fab tag! 🙂

  2. Great answers! I was expecting more epic questions too. Haha.
A Marauders prequel would be amazing but I would love to read a book about the house founders. They just seem like an interesting bunch with almost nothing in common. I wonder how they ended up starting Hogwarts together.

  3. Part of me really wants a Marauders prequel, but part of me doesn’t because I kind of like imagining my own thing (*cough* Wolfstar *cough*) and don’t want that to be ruined lol. And I agree, I don’t like shipping characters from different books/series. Just doesn’t seem right.
