What I Would Like to Watch in 2018

It is Tuesday and normally I would post a Top Ten Tuesday post. However I was not quite so taken by the topic for today and I could not quite twist it the way that I liked so I decided that for once I would skip it. After all it is to help you be inspired and prompted to write about certain things, not to make it harder.

Back in December Marcia from Oog op de Toekomst posted about the Blind Spot Movie Challenge she has been doing for two years in a row now. In this challenge you make a list of 12 movies you would still like to see but have been putting off for a while. I realized when I read her post that I wanted to do something like that as well. I would not want to make this a huge goal or anything but just to trigger myself to put down a reminder.

And while I am at it I can also list the movies that are coming out I might want to see and hey, all those tv shows I still have to catch up on. Who knows, it might happen.

Since making this list at the start of January I have already been able to strike of some things on these lists as you can see below.

Twelve Backlist Movies

    1. Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy (2005)
    2. Power Rangers (2017)
    3. Kungfu Panda 3 (2016)
    4. Iron Man 3 (2013)
    5. Stardust (2007)
    6. Coraline (2009)
    7. Star Trek: Beyond (2016)
    8. Hugo (2011)
    9. Perfect Creature (2006)
    10. The Immortals (?)
    11. Minotaur (2006)
    12. A Chinese Ghost Story (1987)

Did you know that it is super hard to get the Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy on dvd without paying a fortune here? Well now you do… Some of these I own, others I do not. The last 4 are movies I bought years and years ago but just never watched. It is about time.

Twelve Backlist Tv Shows I Need to Finish/Continue

  1. Haven / Season 4
  2. Sherlock / Season 4
  3. Game of Thrones / Season 6
  4. Under the Dome / Season 3
  5. Falling Skies / Season 5
  6. The 100 / Season 2 / Season 3
  7. Black Sails / Season 2 / Season 3
  8. Sleepy Hollow / Season 3
  9. Shannara / Season 1
  10. The Walking Dead / Season 6
  11. Jordskott / Season 1
  12. American Gods / Season 1

You might wonder: ‘Annemieke, are you even up to date with any tv show?’ No probably not… WAIT! There is The Magicians that I got to watch last year. Season 3 isn’t out yet… Oh no wait, I think it might have started. Drats.

New Releases Movies

  1. Love, Simon
  2. A Wrinkle in Time
  3. The Darkest Minds
  4. Fantastic Beasts 2
  5. Jurassic World 2: Fallen Kingdom

Love, Simon was pushed back to June here. Weep with me.

    1. It is great to list those you might have not thought about in a while.
I really want to watch it but the library doesn’t seem to have a copy. 😦 So I’ll have to buy it some time.

  1. I can definitely relate to needing to catch up on TV shows and movies, I feel like I’m behind on everything! I’ve had to limit myself to focusing on 2-3 shows at a time so I don’t unfinish them all. You’ll have to keep us updated on your watching progress!

  2. The only backlist movie of those I’ve seen is Iron Man 3! I have soooo many backlist movies I still want to watch too. I also need to catch up on The 100 and Game of Thrones (definitely on my to-do list for this year), and I want to watch American Gods too.

I am weeping along with you on the Love, Simon one. I really want to watch it!

  3. I loved Hugo. Such a cute movie. I heard they were making a movie of the author’s other book, Wonderstruck. I haven’t watched The Walking Dead but know lots of people who do. I thought Season 4 of Sherlock was really good. Enjoy and good luck!

Under the Dome gaat vinden 😀

  5. Stardust is so much fun. I remember vaguely that I watched Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy, but I don’t quite recall what I thought of it. Power Rangers was good, I guess. The villain was kind of creepy. Plus, there is a gross joke early on. I like the cast of that movie, though. Watch out for Hugo; it’ll make you cry a bunch. Just a heads up.

  6. I was so surprised by how much I enjoyed the new Power Rangers movie. Like, if it was on T.V., I’d probably sit down and watch it right now. I really enjoy The 100, even with all its flaws, so I hope you enjoy that one. I also may or may not have a big time crush on Bellamy Blake.

  7. Aw, I’m sorry Love, Simon got pushed back for you. That’s one I’m very excited about seeing! I need to watch the rest of Sherlock season 4 too, I’ve only seen the first episode. I tried to tape them when they aired but something went wonky and it only taped the first one. Sigh.

  8. Oh, echt?

    1. Ja gek he?

  9. Ahh, I just discovered last week that Love, Simon will only be released in June here too so I am definitely weeping with you! Also, I really do love this idea, as I have a huge movie and tv backlist too!

  10. I did a bit of a giddy dance when I saw The 100 on your list!!! Kind of curious about Under the Dome, too. And I definitely need to start The Walking Dead- as soon as I finish Fear the Walking Dead I plan to. And so sorry about Simon! That stinks. But at least it will be out soonish- and Darkest Minds, that is exciting too!

    1. Under the Dome is so weird at times and yet strangely addictve because you have to know what is going on. We couldn’t really get into Fear the Walking Dead. At least not the first season.
Yes, I can’t wait for The Darkest Minds. 😀 I’ve heard so little about it though lately. ._.

  11. I loved Hugo, Hitchhiker’s Guide, and Stardust. I was surprised to see that many people didn’t care for Stardust. I think it is most like The Princess Bride for a Comparison and I liked Stardust better. I also need to catch up or complete Haven, Falling Skies, GoT, and The Walking Dead. I also need to finish Black Orphan. 💜
