top ten tuesday

TTT #122 – 2018 Releases I Am Looking Forward To

Is it bad of me to say that I started collecting titles for this post and drafting it at the start of October? Because I did. I am not ashamed. Fall is great for the 2018 buzz.

Here are all the books that have captured my attention for some reason though it doesn’t always mean I will end up getting them. (I might have forgotten some) And when I typed that I thought it would be interesting to see how that was with 2017 releases. I made two posts concerning 2017 releases, for top ten tuesday as well. Last year I didn’t make very big posts though so suffice to say, the only two I didn’t get of those lists were those that were pushed back to 2018 and are now also on this list. Surprisingly actually.

They are in order of release date. Those with a * means they are highly highly anticipated.Β  Most of these will be releases for the first half as that is what is mostly being talked about now.

A little note, as this posts it is second Christmas day here so I won’t be linking up or commenting until Wednesday night most likely as I promised my husband no blogging behind the computer during Christmas, haha.

  1. Pitch Dark and Lake Silence look awesome! Only human has a cool cover, and that’s the first time I’ve seen it. Oh and I think Record of a Spaceborn Few may be my most highly anticipated read of 2018- love that series!

    1. Haha following authors on twitter helps a lot. A lot of the time goodreads also has books up a few months to a year before release so if I am interested in certain authors I sometimes look if there is something new coming out by them any time soon.

  2. Love the cover of Pitch Dark. Wow! πŸ™‚ I’m also really looking forward to Becky Albertalli’s new release! I hope that you enjoy these books when you get around to them!

    1. Very curious about What if it’s us because I like Becky but I glanced into Adam’s books and knew from that and a short story that his writing style is not for me so I am also hesitant to see what it will turn out.

  3. Is it bad of me to say that I started collecting titles for this post and drafting it at the start of October?

Nope, definitely not bad! I was prowling the 2018 releases back then as well, lol.

January: nice picks! Chainbreaker looks awesome, have to look that one up! the Sacrifice box sounds really awesome as well, I came across it when doing research for my monthly releases and that crow on the cover; perrrfect. And of course, that skull of Reign of Fallen: whooaa, epiccc. I haven’t read the first graphic novel of Wires and Nerve but I’m really curious about it.

February: NICE PICKSSSS! Pitch dark is a horror, or am I wrong? I thought I read the synopsis about that one a while ago and thought it would be an awesome read! And Tess of the Road is very high on my wishlist as well. DRAGONS ❀

March: I've seen Children of Blood and Bone being talked about a lot already, I'm curious about that one. I'm not familiar with Lake silence, need to look it up

April: ahhh cinda williams chima. I guess I rather not say anything now right? lol I NEED TO START READING HER BOOKS. gods..
Ace of Shades is on my wishlist as well. Still need to read Daughter of the Burning city but this new book by Amanda sounds so awesome as well!

May: Ohhh those picks look very intriguing. Still need to buy and read Caraval though, oops

    1. Sometimes we just have to otherwise we forget. πŸ˜‰

It is the sequel to Timekeeper which I loved last year. πŸ˜€ I was so sad it got pushed back to January.
Pitch Dark is a mix of sci-fi and horror I think. I am so curious after Shutter and that cover. *.*
Lake Silence is the new continuation of The Other books with other characters by Anne Bishop. Written in Red (Rode Letters in Dutch) was the very first book.

  4. I love that you started drafting this in October! I am never really on top of the new releases, so I didn’t participate this week. I can barely keep up with what was released in the previous years! How do you find all the new release titles/information for these posts? I feel like it would require so much research from me…

Becky Albertalli and Adam Silvera are co-authoring a novel?! Oh man. There will be SO MANY FEELS felt through reading that book. I’ve definitely added it to my TBR.

I’m impressed at the number of series books on this list. Have you read the earlier books for all these series?

    1. I had to otherwise I would forget all the titles haha. I got a lot from Goodreads and twitter mostly. So much information on there that it is easy to keep track of I guess.

I have read all of the previous books in those series except for Wayfarers and Shattered Realms where I have only read the first books. πŸ™‚ But I am planning on reading on in those as I own the books already released so I can binge a bit.
