Top 17 of 2017

I know it is only December 10th but as I was planning out my end of the year posts for December and January it fit the best in this particular place. To be fair to myself I am planning to reread one or two series this month so I am not expecting to have any more favorites for this month.

As I was writing down all my 5 star reads of this year it was surprising to see I could fill this list almost entirely with 5 star reads. This hardly ever happens. I do think I read quite a few good books this year. Some hardcore new favorites for sure. And it was very hard to pick an order for all of these to be honest. I mean on any given day this order could completely change. Well maybe not completely.

But I will not keep you in suspense. Below you will find my top 17 of 2017, counting down from number 17 all the way down to the number 1. All of these are amazing reads though and you should all read them right now.

NUMBER ONE

Sorcerer to the Crown (Sorcerer Royal 1) by Zen Cho / Review / 5 stars

Surprisingly my initial rating for this book was 4,5 stars but I kept thinking about this book and how desperately I needed a next book. How I needed to read more about Zacharias, Prunella and this magical world in London.

  1. Woehoe ik spotte The Long Way to a Small, Angry Planet in je lijstje ❀ Mijn favorieten zijn waarschijnlijk Slapende Reuzen en Ontwakende Goden! Maar ik ga nog eens alle boeken die ik las doorspitten om tot een toplijstje te komen πŸ˜€

  2. Oh, you are so lucky! So many good reads πŸ™‚
I am curious about ‘Sorcerer to the Crown’ now, seeing you rank it so high! And great to see that ‘The Others’ series is still awesome after book 5. I plan to start it next year and am already looking forward to it!

‘Red Seas under Red Skies’ was a 5star read for me as well. So are all of Robin Hobb’s books πŸ˜€

  3. Picking favorites is always so hard! And next year you will hopefully have even more Robin Hobb to choose from. πŸ˜‚

TLWTASAP narrowly missed my top 10, but I think I’ll love it even more when I reread. And I’m nervous for Tess of the Road. I’ve heard mixed reviews, so it’s encouraging to hear that you liked it.

  4. I have only read one of the books on your list so far! It’s awesome that you could fill this list with so many 5 star reads! Sounds like you had a way better reading year than me! My favorite books that I read this year were probably Song of the Current, Daughter of the Siren Queen, and Among the Red Stars! πŸ™‚

    1. Yes I am very pleased with that as well. And surprised haha.
I really want to read Song of the Current and Daughter of the Siren Queen so I am glad to hear you loved them so much. πŸ˜€
