TTT #98 – Diverse Books I Recently Added to My Wishlist a.k.a Goodreads

My wishlist is never ending. This must not come as a shock to any of you. With backlist books and new releases I discover it will never end. This the life of a bookworm that we have to accept. Living with massive to read list and with the knowledge that we might not ever get to read them all.

Wow, that turned negative.

Anyway, on those wishlists I have of course various different type of books. Most that are drawn to a certain genre or element at moments in time, tend to search out more books like that. I am not nessecarily like that. My favorite genre is fantasy. My favorite subgenre is high fantasy. And I might read a contemporary or a sci-fi here or there but that doesn’t make me add more of those to my wishlist. So I won’t be doing x genre for this weeks Top Ten Tuesday (as always created by the lovely ladies over on The Broke and the Bookish). I’ve decided to  focus on something that is important. Diverse books. And diverse books in this can also just mean a diverse author.

These are the ones I have recently added onto Goodreads. And recently would be up to May 11th as I planned in this post ahead of time.

  1. Dreadnought  (Nemesis 1) by April Daniels
I recently heard about this book though it was already released at the start of the year. This features a transgender superhero and that just sounds amazing to me.
  2.  Love, Hate & Other Filters by Samira Ahmed
Not yet released (2018) but this sentence caught my attention in the synopsis: A searing #OwnVoices coming-of-age debut in which an Indian-American Muslim teen confronts Islamophobia and a reality she can neither explain nor escape.
  3. The Tiger’s Watch (Ashes of Gold 1) by Julia Ember
Not yet released but look at that cover. And a series title that is Ashes of Gold. But best of all, a genderfluid mc!
  4. The Epic Crush of Genie Lo by F.C. Yee
    Look at that Epic cover!
  5. Children of Blood and Bone by Tomi Adeyemi
Not released yet (2018) but the synopsis mentions a reaper mother. Must have.
  6. The Bloodprint (The Khorasan Archives 1) by Ausma Zehanet Khan
It is an adult fantasy which interested me.
  7. The Belles (The Belles 1) by Dhonielle Clayton
It has poc mc’s in a fantasy. We need more of those.
  8. Shadowshaper (Shadowshaper 1) by Daniel Jose Holder
That cover is just epicness on its own. And it has a diverse cast character so that was an automatic click on want to read.

  1. Love what you did with this week’s list. I am salivating over The Belles’s cover. I’m honestly ready to preorder it now. I’ve read Shadowshaper from your list and I think it’s one of the most unique books. The MC is afro-latinx which I think we need to see more of. Happy reading!

  2. I love this list and wish I could just immediately import them in to my TBR (the one that I will likely never to get to the end of ;0)! Shadowshaper and Dreadnought are the only ones already on there – the rest are totally new to me. Thanks for highlighting them!

  3. I have Shadowshaper on my TBR as well and you’re right that cover is so gorgeous! I’ve actually had my eye on Tiger’s Watch by Julia Ember since I read her other book that was recently released “The Seafarer’s Kiss” and really enjoyed it! It’s also diverse since it was a F/F romance! Great list! 🙂
