In the last few years I’ve read a nice amount of books each year. And despite the amount of books, I still read a lot of authors each year that are new to me. Now new to me is of course a relative term. I might have read them for the first time during 2016 but that doesn’t mean I hadn’t heard of them before.
So for this week’s The Broke and the Bookish this list of authors I have read for the first time in 2016 (up to November 1st) are also authors I hadn’t heard of before 2016. In order of having read them.
I am also making a point of not linking them to goodreads or mentioning which books are by them just to see if you do all recognize them just from their name. Because I like to be mean like that.

Do you read a lot of by unknown authors? Have you heard of the authors from the above list?
I read a short story by Lisa Tuttle once but don’t know any of the other authors. I love to go back to authors I already know and like – I am a very loyal reader xD But I like trying new authors as well. Even those I haven’t heard of before if the story sounds good. It’s a good mix every year 😉

I guess I’m not very loyal to authors. I just read whatever appeals to me regardless of who wrote it when I hear about it. I do have my favorites but I don’t think I always go back to the same ones.

I don’t recognize a lot of authors from your list, but I have Alwyn Hamilton’s Rebel of the Sands on my TBR!

I had never heard of either author before picking up their books. But Lisa Tuttle seems to be a well recognized author. 🙂

Yikes! I only know Intisar for sure out of all of these authors. Is Alwyn Hamilton the author of Rebel Of the Sands? That us my only guess. The rest I am clueless. 😝
