TTT # 75 – New to Me Authors I First Read in 2016

D34D2584-75D5-45F1-92E0-64852CEEF92C_zpssqbnidhkIn the last few years I’ve read a nice amount of books each year. And despite the amount of books, I still read  a lot of authors each year that are new to me. Now new to me is of course a relative term. I might have read them for the first time during 2016 but that doesn’t mean I hadn’t heard of them before.

So for this week’s The Broke and the Bookish this list of authors I have read for the first time in 2016 (up to November 1st) are also authors I hadn’t heard of before 2016. In order of having read them.

I am also making a point of not linking them to goodreads or mentioning which books are by them just to see if you do all recognize them just from their name. Because I like to be mean like that.

  • Lisa Tuttle
  • Liz Kessler
  • Alwyn Hamilton
  • Maialen Alonso
  • Mark Gelinaeu and Joe King
  • L.S. Johnson
  • Simon de Waal
  • Danielle Ackley-McPhail
  • Steven Kelliher
  • Intisar Khanani
  • Laure Eve

Do you read a lot of by unknown authors? Have you heard of the authors from the above list?

  1. I read a short story by Lisa Tuttle once but don’t know any of the other authors. I love to go back to authors I already know and like – I am a very loyal reader xD But I like trying new authors as well. Even those I haven’t heard of before if the story sounds good. It’s a good mix every year 😉

    1. I guess I’m not very loyal to authors. I just read whatever appeals to me regardless of who wrote it when I hear about it. I do have my favorites but I don’t think I always go back to the same ones.

  2. YES! To Mark Gelineau and Joe King! Which did you get to read? I love them all but the Rend the Dark series are my favourite.

    Happy Reading
