TTT #50 – Most Anticipated Releases for the Second Half of 2016

Now that we are the half way point of June, the sixth month of the year, we are moving towards the second half of the year. There will be a string of interesting book releases coming forward again.

Of course I would lie if I said I wasn’t looking forward to any of these releases. There are various ones that I am keeping my eye on. But these few are my Most Anticipated releases. It is not a long list, but I am most likely going to be pre ordering these, which I can’t say for most of the other new releases coming.

This prompt was given to us by The Broke and the Bookish through Top Ten Tuesday, a weekly meme.

ttt 50

  1. Heartless by Marissa Meyer – November 8th
I have been looking forward to this book ever since I heard of it, back in 2013 I think it was. I was also quite sad last year when it got pushed back to November of this year. Because, hello, more waiting. But now that we are edging into the second half of this year, we are getting closer and closer.
  2. Crooked Kingdom (Six of Crows 2) by Leigh Bardugo – September 27th
Six of Crows was one of my favourite reads of 2015 so I am looking forward to seeing the conclusion of this duology.
  3. The Creeping Shadow (Lockwood & Co. 4) by Jonathan Stroud – September 13th
You all know by now that I quite like Jonathan Stroud as a writer. While I do prefer the Bartimaeus trilogy over Lockwood, I do really enjoy reading this series. So I can’t wait to see how we continue on from the ending of the third book. I can’t say I am too sure about that cover though compared to the previous three.
  4. The Hammer of Thor (Magnus Chase and the Gods of Asgard 2) by Rick Riordan – October 4th
Riordan always seems to release a book a week before my birthday so they are always great birthday presents to my self, haha. I’m curious to see how this series will continue.
  5. Frost Like Night (Snow Like Ashes 3) by Sara Raash – September 20th
Another conclusion to a series. While Ice Like Fire was a dissapointment to me, I still try and have high hopes for this third book based on the first book. And I still have high hopes for my favorite character of the series.
  6. A Million Worlds Without You (Firebird 3) by Claudia Gray – November 1st
While this isn’t a favorite series for me, I am still curious to read the conclusion to this trilogy. And those covers do help.

So which of these releases are you looking forward to as well?

  4. YES to Crooked Kingdom!!! I can’t wait to get my hands on that one! I’m excited for A Million Worlds With You, as well. It’s not my favorite series out there, either but I still enjoy them enough to want to know what happens in the end. And totally agree, that cover doesn’t hurt 😀

  5. I ended up not picking up Ice Like Fire because I heard a lot of mixed things (mostly that my beloved Theron’s character was mishandled), but I might end up picking up the final two books once the conclusion is released later in the year. Great list!

  6. I’m suuuuper looking forward to Crooked Kingdom! And I have the same thing, there are a few books on my most anticipated list that I wish were here already and others are more like.. they sound cool but I’m not necessarily counting the days.

(Wat leuk om een blog van een Nederlandse te ontdekken via TTT!)

    1. Agreed. Some releases I’m more keeping my eye on and see if they are well received and so on instead of being super excited about them.

      (En zeker leuk 😉 )

  7. I was pretty disappointed with Ice Like Fire too *weeps* which is just the WORST because the first book was so so good!! Anyway, I’m hoping the 3rd redeems it all. ;D AND YES YES TO HEARTLESS OMG I NEED THAT BOOK SO BADLY!!

Thanks for stopping by @ Paper Fury!

  8. I am looking forward to the Bardugo duology. I know that you don’t have to read the Grisha trilogy to read these two books, but I still wanted to get Ruin and Rising read before I started something new. I guess I just need to be organized like that. Ha ha. 😁

    1. It’s always more fun to finish another series first that is attached to it. Some things from The Grisha trilogy was mentioned during Six of Crows, so I do think it is better to finish the series before reading it if you have started it already. 🙂
