Welcome to another Top Ten Tuesday. Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme created by The Broke and the Bookish, where we get a bookish prompt to create a top ten for.
So this week was another fill in post. Ten books every x should read. I always find these the hardest because I actually have to think about what would fit best for me and what I like to read. I decided to go with fantasy because that is what I read the most. These are all kind of different fantasy types with varying target groups.
- The Demon King (Seven Realms 1) by Cinda Williams Chima
- Seraphina (Seraphina 1) by Rachel Hartman
- The Amulet of Samarkand (Bartimaeus 1) by Jonathan Stroud
- Mort (Discworld 4, Death 1) by Terry Pratchett
- The Ocean at the End of the Lane by Neil Gaiman
- Howl’s Moving Castle by Diana Wynne Jones
- Indigo Springs (Astrid Lethewood 1) by A.M. Dellamonica
- A Game of Thrones (A Song of Ice and Fire 1) by George R.R. Martin
- The Snow-Walker’s Son (The Snow Walker 1) by Catherine Fisher
- The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern
A Game of Thrones is still on my TBR. If you’re interested, here’s my list: http://wp.me/p7ksIu-38

A great list of books! The Night Circus is my favorite book of all time (which is not something I would have ever said about any book until that one came along), and I love George R.R. Martin. Have you read The Name of the Wind by Patrick Rothfuss? That’s one of my favorite fantasy series of all time (after Morgenstern and Martin).

The Night Circus is pretty great. I haven’t read The Name of the Wind yet but I own the book. It’s one I hope to read this year. 🙂

It is. Have you read The Ocean at the End of the Lane? It’s also magical realism like The Night Circus and a great book to try.

Great list – I’ve read a few of these but want to read the Stroud and Hartman books to and I think I own the Stroud one. Need to tidy my book shelves.

It makes me super happy that three books I love are on your list. I absolutely love everything written by Neil Gaiman. I can not wait until the next book by George R. R. Martin to finally come out, and I LOVE The Night Circus so much! This was a really great list. Have you read anything by Patrick Rothfuss? I highly recommend The Name of the Wind (The Kingkiller Chronicles) Book 1…I think you will really enjoy it based on our similar tastes in fantasy. You can check out my TTT here: The Plot Bunny

It’s always a great feeling to share favourites! I haven’t read a lot of Neil Gaiman yet but what I have read I have really liked. Ugh, I wonder when the next book is coming out in the series from Martin. I’m glad I wasn’t following the series from the start of it being released. That would be torture. 😉
I have The Name of the Wind on my shelves with the novella and the second book in my online shopping cart. I’m ready to delve into it this year!

I’m SO ridiculously happy you have The Demon King on your list! HUZZAH FOR THAT SERIES. It is like the best and so totally underrated. I have to finish off the last books so I can get to Flamecaster. :’)
I also love Seraphina and Game of Thrones! 😀
Thanks for stopping by @ Paper Fury!

I loved Howl’s Moving Castle! I had seen the movie several times before the author of the Splintered Series mentioned to me that it was a book. I want to read the other books in the trilogy, too. 🙂

Howl’s Moving Castle is great. I enjoyed Castle in the Air as well. Still have to get to House of Many Ways.
