Top Ten Tuesday #3

top ten tuesdayTuesday has come again quickly, and with it brings us Top Ten Tuesday. As always, this weekly feature is created by The Broke and the Bookish, where we create a top ten of the given topic.

This week we are given the topic of top ten most anticipated releases for the rest of 2015. Before I became apart of the booklr community over on Tumblr, I had very little idea of new releases of books. A new world opened up to me. I’ve found plenty of new release books I would like to read. The downside to that is that it is so much harder to choose as there are a lot of older books I would also still like to read. The joys of being a bookworm… Overal though I still have a rather small list of anticipated releases. I know, how is that possible?

Anyway, here we go with my top ten for this week. As always, the links will lead to their Goodreads page.

1. Winter (The Lunar Chronicles 4) by Marissa Meyer
Release: November 10th 2015
Now this must not be a surprise, and I’m positive it will be on the list of a lot of others. Winter, being the final book to The Lunar Chronicles, is highly anticipated. Knowing it will be over 800 pages only makes it worse. I honestly can’t wait. The release of Fairest earlier this year didn’t help either.

2. De Stad van de Alchemist (De Verborgen Universiteit 3) by Natalie Koch
Release: August 18th 2015 (don’t listen to Goodreads)
Now this is a Dutch release I am anticipating. This year I read the first book and loved it. Though I haven’t read the second one yet (it is proving hard to get my hands on the second one in hardcover), I am really looking forward to this release.

3. The Shepherd’s Crown (Discworld 41, Tiffany Aching 5) by Terry Pratchett
Release: September 15th 2015
One of my long time goals is to get my hands on all the Discworld books. This want has intensified after the death of Terry Pratchett earlier this year. Though I have read not one of the Tiffany Aching books (the YA collection within Discworld) I feel I should be getting this once it comes out as it is the last one…

4. The Sword of Summer (Magnus Chase and the Gods of Asgard) by Rick Riordan
Release: October 6th 2015
Ever since I heard of this one, I’ve been curious. There doesn’t seem to be a cover released yet which I really want to see.

5. Ten Thousand Skies Above You (Firebird 2) by Claudia Gray
Release: November 3rd 2015
I read A Thousand Pieces of You earlier this year, and though I’m certainly not in love with this series, I have come to like it. I do wonder where this all is going. I might not get this right away though. Have you seen that cover though?

6. Queen of Shadow (Throne of Glass 4) by Sarah J. Maas
Release: September 1st 2015
I’ll be honest, my interest in this release has dwindled a lot since I read Heir of FIre earlier this year. I didnt really love the first two all that much, but Heir of Fire showed us so much more. Unfortunately I feel that the fandom isn’t entirely that open to those that do not love some characters *cough*Chaol*cough*, and my interest has been kind of dissapearing. There is a very real chance I am not going to get this for a while, but we’ll see.

7. Ice Like Fire (Snow Like Ashes 2) by Sara Raasch
Release: October 13th 2015
I haven’t read the first book yet (though I do own it), but I’m expecting to love it and as such this makes me anticipate the second book as well.

8. It’s a Wonderful Death by Sarah J. Schmidth
Release: October 2015
Hello, grim reapers! Yes I do have a fascination with Death in books. Shhhh

9. Six of Crows (The Dregs 1) by Leigh Bardugo
Release: October 8th 2015
I’ve only read Shadow and Bone so far, but I’ve liked it. The synopsis makes this sound as if there is a potential for a load of sass!

10. The Whispering Skull/The Hollow Boy (Lockwood Inc. 2 &3) by Jonathan Stroud
The Whispering Skull paperback release: September 15th 2015
The Hollow Boy release: September 15th 2015
I haven’t actually haven’t started this series either, however it is Jonathan Stroud. I’ve been waiting on the paperback release of The Whispering Skull so I can read the first two back to back. I might have to wait a bit before the paperback of the third one releases though. 😦

So what releases are you looking forward to?

    1. Oh, being able to read them back to back should be great. 🙂
And yes the book community does that to you, gets you excited about books/series you haven’t even read yet, haha

  1. Mine are (in no particular order): The Sword of Summer by Rick Riordan; Passenger by Alexandra Bracken; The Rose Society by Marie Lu; Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone: Illustrated Edition by J. K. Rowling and Jim Kay; Winter by Marissa Meyer.
I’ve yet to read A Thousand Pieces of you (but it’s right here!), so hopefully Ten Thousand Skies Above You, will soon be added to that list.

      1. Yes! I really liked the Young Elites (I’ll have the review up tomorrow), so I’m quite looking forward to the sequel. 🙂

  2. Oh! Lockwood and Co. are so good! I love Stroud’s books. Plus so many other awesome releases! I can’t wait for ‘Six of Crows’ and ‘Queen of Shadows’ – we’re really being spoiled for good books this year!

    1. Oh dear, I think my comment disappeared?! At least half of it looks like it’s gone! I’M SO SORRY! Gah, I can’t even remember what I said…but I concur with you on Queen of Shadows! I really really adore that series (and I’m still a big Chaolena shipper, so I won’t say much about that, lol) but I was so into that series and now I’m not as excited. >_<

      1. It sucks when comments get eaten like that.

Haha, I don’t mind if people like Chaol or ship him with her, I just dislike it when I’m not allowed to dislike him. 😉 But yeah it is a long wait. Maybe when it is nearing September your excitement will return. 🙂

  3. I am also looking forward to Six of Crows – I love fantasy heist novels, and this sounds like it will fit the bill perfectly!
