As today is a Wednesday I am starting out this blog with a Top 5 Wednesday post. T5W is created by Gingerreadslainey on YouTube. Every Wednesday you post a top 5 on the given topic. Topics, and more about this weekly feature, can be found at the Goodreads group.
This week the topic is Top 5 Debut Novels, so let’s get this list started.

1. Angelfall (Penryn and the End of Days 1) by Susan Ee
I fell in love with Penryn and her relationship with her sister in this book. There is also such a dark tone in the second part of this book.
2. Cinder (The Lunar Chronicles 1) by Marissa Meyer
I loved the idea of this book. Combining fairy tales with sci-fi was a great idea, and this book was a great set-up for the rest of the series.
3. Shadow and Bone (The Grisha 1) by Leigh Bardugo
Shadow and Bone has a great fantasy world that I just want more off.
4. The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern
There is such an intricate world building and great detailed writing in this book, especially for a debut novel.
5. The Golem and the Djinni by Helen Wecker
This book reminded me a lot of The Night Circus in terms of detailed writing and story lines of characters coming together at the end. And though the characters couldn’t quite touch me, I can see so much potential in this author.
